We'd love to make it to Cedar Point sometime. I think it's next on my Theme Park to-do list. Do you guys think its worth a pilgrimage? Or should we just stick with Disney?

If you like roller coasters, it is worth it. I was talking to a friend who grew up near it too and we noticed that compared to Great Adventure and some of the other parks like it, Cedar Point's coasters are longer...they are mostly all two and a half minutes or more, compared to the 90 second rides elsewhere.

I would say it is a two day trip without Soak City, three with

And Soak City is pretty good. There is also a lot of other cool stuff in the area. I miss it.

Is the excitement of the Cedar Point coasters higher too? I think El Toro and the Kingda Ka are the only real standouts at Great Adventure, but it's got some decent roller coasters.

Any nearby activities you highly recommend? We're thinking about a road trip soon and this would be a great destination. Would love to plan out a bunch of stuff.

It depends on what type of things you like - there are some islands in the Sandusky area that are really cool and relaxing. There are also a couple of indoor waterparks (so much fun!). There is also a really cool Merry-Go-Round museum that I went to years ago with a camp.

There is a lot of other stuff near the area - Amish Country, Cleveland, ect.

I'm going to give indoor waterparks (a personal favorite) an edge over Amish Country in the excitement department! laugh
