Kathy, we always stay a Deluxe resorts and we get pin codes so that blows that theory.

Well guess am on the wrong side of the coin so to speak. Puzzled

I don't think the coin has anything to do with it, I think it is totally random. We take friends with us and they were getting the pins after some trip and we wouldn't. We fill out a lot of the Disney surveys in the parks, have you?

I'm all about the FREE yay so can someone give me the quick run down here? From what I understand, from time to time Disney randomly emails people with special coupons or PINS with free offers to entice them to book another visit? I am not entirely sure I am on any of their mailing lists or and do not use a Disney Visa card. How can I make sure I am potentially in the running for getting one of these elusive pins?!

I have noticed that Disney (of course) knows when I might be going, and if I haven't made a reservation, a PIN shows up. For instance, I often go in a November and/or February. In the Fall, I hadn't made any reservations, and after a while, a PIN showed up. Perhaps it's an "if they know you haven't made your usual reservations this year" thing.

ETA - It's definitely an incitement thing, I've noticed that. What I mean is, it's definitely used as an incitement if they need to give you a little push, as opposed to being used as a reward for regular trips.

Ummm you could be right. The last 3 years I have gone in October and I always book it at the AAA travel expo in March. Al thought this year am going in May to see the flower show. Maybe I should just seat back but am always so excited to be going I book as soon as I can.

last year we stayed at all star music for a week as a birthday trip for my GF. (I know its a long way to go for a week) when we were there we were ask to fill out surveys at all 4 parks which we did, then at Holly wood studios the cast member running it asked if I ould fill one out when I got home.

After a week of being back I filled it out in great detail and explained how I had been visiting for 20 years butnever done halloween or moderate hotels and we were looking to return with another couple one who was a first timer.

Disney called me and offered me the trip staying in Old Key West, 7 nights, flights and park tickets for PS1,500 pp (what we had just paid for a week in all star) I explained it was a great deal but 7 nights wasnt going to be long enough, there and then the lady said she would up it to 14 nights for free, then I explained that I needed to talk to everyone and she said she would hold the deal.

2 days later she called me to ee if I had made up my mind, I asked if it was the best deal she could do and after she looked up my name I had got a pin code from filling out all the surveys and she offered me free dining (service, table, snack) VIP passes for the firworks at MK and Epcot during our trip, flights with Virgin and $200 spending money, all still for PS1,500pp! needless to say we booked it.

I don't know if that helps but I just say yes to everything while we are away and take time to fill out things with good detailed answers.

I can tell you that I say 'yes' to everything as well and I still get nothing...meaning the pin number. And after last year when we had such a terrible stay in October and I wrote a complaint I did get a call from Disney but never offered anything like what they offered you. This is very frustrating. It's a good thing I love Disney so much. Wow I don't know if I would have continued to ask 'if that was the best they could do' as staying for free for 14 days would have made me stop. I take my hat off to you.

LOL Our family went a year ago last June and we (I am NOT exaggerating) were on TEN rides that broke while we were ON the ride. In one case, they were closing Everest for repairs but as we got off, the CM asked if we wanted to go on one more time before they closed it for repairs and my foolish sons and DH grabbed me and jumped on. It stopped mid way. We were on the ascent of Splash Mountain and froze there for 5 minutes. We were coming off the Hotel in DH and as they swing you in the dark (which is actually back stage) the ride froze and as we sat there with our seatbelts firmly locked on, we heard the speaker saying, "Please remain in your seats. We are attempting to resolve the problem." When we finally got off, the CM was directing anyone who wanted to ride again to enter the FP line and they would get am immediate reboard. One CM said they had had to reboot the computer system a couple of times that night and being married and the mother of computer majors, they shook their heads and we headed out - fast!

When we returned home I sent Disney a quick note, just mentioning that the oddly high number of ride failures (we even closed The Adventures of Pooh), seemed....well, un-Disney. They replied that they had put a one-day ticket for ONE person in my name with no expiration. Useless. Anyone who goes to Disney knows 1) you don't get cheaper tickets with less days, and 2) who goes for one day?

We have gone there A LOT, filled out all surveys, answered all their questions, called repeatedly about pins etc, sat on broken rides, and they just happily tell me, "Sorry, we don't have anything for you at this time." I think it's a myth with no magic! mad

And we still pay and go!

I did. I think because I never book directly through Disney (either through my cousin who is a CM or renting DVC points) they constantly send me these to try and entice me in. I actually came on here to ask if I could let someone use my code.. or is it only linked to my name? I feel bad letting them go to waste when there are so many people who would love to get them.

It's linked to your name, so only you can use it.

We book directly with a Disney all the time, so I don't think that's the case.

We are hoping (praying?) for Sept FD as that will be the biggest savings. Traditionally that is their slowest month and the most common time for FD, but if all I get is 30% off a resort for 6 days or more, heck, I'll take it as it would pay for the dining!

I am not picky, just....well....um....greedy?

Besides any money I save will be spend there anyway!

Hey, guys!

Any news about the FD? I'm really exited about the rumours, and can't wait to be sure about the Sep. 2014 FD edition! bighug crossfingers

But I'm thinking about calling WDW to ask about any PINS related to my name. I just have one question about this PIN thing: is this a US residents only or it may be sent to someone who lives abroad?

As I'm planning mu 9th trip to WDW, a big fat FD PIN would be really welcome! mickey

Disney has not announced any free dining yet. I believe it was the beginning of May last year that they announced the fall specials.

We live in Canada, and I have a friend that gets pin offers every year! She has no idea why she gets them, and we don't - they haven't gone for over 14 years. I guess Disney really, really wants them to come back.

Thanks for the information!

I I'll give it a try later, around may 15th, if we don't have any news on the FD by then.
