I would have to say my top 5 are mickey February 24 can't get here fast enough for me seems like its been forever since i have been to Disney

1. Cupcakes anywhere in the wdw
2. Elephant ears Paris
3. hot chocolate at Ghiradelli
4. pretzel in germany
5. ice tea in china

I almost tried the pretzel as Sommerfest when I was there. Is it a pretty standard pretzel or does it have any twists?

Does it have any twists??? Oh come on, I can't be the only one who found that funny!

Nope - it took me a minute, but - hahahahhahahaha!

I LOVE how shocked you are at my Zebra dome, ah, virtue. I promise to try one in the immediate future. Looks like an encounter with AKL is on the books! (Well, eating there, anyway.)

Lizzy your post indicates that you have never heard of Zebra Domes. eek
Zebra Domes are a pastry only available at AKL at BOMA and at the counter service rest. whose name escapes me at the moment (senior moment). I have never eaten at Kidani Village but I will assume that they are available there as well. Try just one and you will be hooked for life as I was. They are deeelish!!!

Lizzy B..please tell..no..please..you have never heard of a Zebra Dome?!?!?!?!

http://chowtown.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/zebra-dome.jpg

Done.

You know...true confession time...I have neglected AK and AKL shamefully. I've never even laid eyes on AKL eek That means I haven't had the pleasure of Boma or Jiko. And while I've spent time at AK - especially the early days, since it opened while I was still a CM - I haven't spent as much time there in later years. There are several rides that I haven't even done.

SO....I have a trip planned over there next week. I will attempt to track down a zebra dome and try it. Although sounds like it's destined to become a vice. And I need another one of those like, well, you know...

Lizzy your story shocks me! Seriously..get to AKL like RIGHT now. they sell Zebra Domes in the Mara.

Monday will have to do Smile

I was thinking about this...and I think I've got it figured out. My hard core Disney exploration took place when I was a CM, and that was more than 10 years ago now. I don't think AKL was finished before I left, or maybe it just was. So there wasn't much of an occasion to get over there. Since we've been back, and I've had passes we spend a lot more time at the parks than in resorts. SO...that's my story. Anything that's been added in the last 10 years (outside of the parks esp), I'm not as familiar with. Silly, I know. Now, we're just about doing stuff that's kid-friendly, too. It's rare that I can get to the parks without having to ride Nemo&Friends or a spate of Fantasyland rides.

But Jiko -here I come! I am SERIOUSLY excited!

They're not bad. I seek them, but they're in a food court so they're not as good as some other beignets I've had. But I did taste a strong undercurrent of pixie dust, which makes everything better. silly

I live in the Antelope Valley area, about 2 hours north of Disneyland. Andy and I only get to go about once a year but are hoping to get annual passes next year.. all our money right now is being saved for WDW in October, haha.

I LOVE them!! I get so excited every time we go, haha. Last time we went to the Mint Julep Bar and got a good outside seat, they had a jazz band playing, it was really nice.

We had such a good time eating the Counter Service & snacks in Disneyland. I thought the TS didn't compare as well for the most part but the quick stuff was wonderful by comparison. The Mickey Beignets at Cafe Orleans were AWESOME plus they have those amazing fries.

I'm sure I've done this list before for Disney World, but I may have to update it and see how my tastes have changed.

No worries Chrisdel & welcome! Dole Whip pineapple ice-cream can be found in Adventure Land or in the Poly resort in Captain Cooks. It is delicious. There is also orange, but pineapple is the signature.
