5 Reasons to Love Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney's Contemporary Resort is not only one of the original Walt Disney World Hotels, but it remains one of the premier destinations for Disney travelers both staying at the property or just coming for a visit. Its unique A-frame design sets the stage for the massive Grand Canyon Concourse that holds shopping, dining, an original Mary Blair mural, and the monorail which runs right through! Location, Location, Location

With it's own walkway right to the Magic Kingdom and a prime location on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop it just doesn't get closer than this. Disney's Contemporary resort is the best hotel choice possible for folks that want to be in the center of the vacation kingdom. Guests at the Contemporary can hop a boat, bus, or monorail to just about anywhere on property.

Guests can even reserve rooms with a Magic Kingdom view, making the fireworks feel like it's a private show. In addition to stunning theme park views, guests staying at the Contemporary are nestled between the beautiful Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon making it hard to get a room without something fabulous right out your window.

Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage

A swashbuckling good night of fun that begins at the Contemporary Resort with refreshments of cookies, snacks and beverages. Captain Hook and his first-mate Mr. Smee mingle with guests and pose for pictures before turning them over for the night to Pirate Captain "Patch." Board a sea worthy vessel for high adventure across the Seven Seas Lagoon to view the Magic Kingdom's Wishes Fireworks. Limited space is available, and reservations are required.

Bay Lake Tower is dedicated to stunning modern vacation villas. These chic, modern studios, and one, two, or three bedroom suites include in room amenities such as spa tubs, full kitchens, and a washer/dryer combo. DVC Members also have exclusive access to the Bay Lake Tower's Top of the World Lounge which has one of the best views of the Wishes fireworks show there is.

Fun On The Water

In addition to having two fantastic pools with spas and cabana rental, Sammy Duvall's Water Sports Centre makes its home at the Contemporary Resort and includes so much more than your basic boat rental. From this great location on Disney's beautiful Bay Lake adventurous guests can go water skiing, tubing, wake boarding, fishing, parasailing, and hire a personal speedboat. There are many Marinas at Walt Disney World, but at the Contemporary with it's access to both Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon - you can do it all.

Oh hey - the beaches and marina also happen to be a wonderful spot to watch Disney's nightly Electrical Pageant. This outdoor water parade can be seen off the shore of Bay Lake beginning at 10:10pm or shortly thereafter.
