AMC Dine-In Theater Experience Coming to Downtown Disney Next Week

Dinner and a movie: it's the perfect combo. Starting next Monday, the AMC Theater in Downtown Disney is gearing up to offer in-theater dining to movie-goers.

Six of the theater's auditoriums will be equipped with the new dining option. Guests will be able to watch a current flick while enjoying a meal. The theater's dine-in option gives guests reserved seats complete with a table top for dining as well as a call button for personalized service to those seats.

The menu offers a variety of fare, including burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, quesadillas and house specialties. Appetizers and deserts are also available as are alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Guests interested in a drink before or after the show can try out the theater's bar, MacGuffins.

Ticket prices range from $6-$13. As for food, expect appetizers to start at $6.59 and adult entrees at $8.59.

I haven't decided if I like this yet. For me, I'm wondering if it might be too distracting to have servers coming in and out while I'm trying to watch a movie, let along the clinking of plates and stuff. I think I like quiet too much in a movie to appreciate this. I'd be really curious though to see if it's like that or not. Mase, you will have to tell me! :)

JeffC- it seems like it's hard to find any theather - dinner included or not - that's quiet these days (at least in my neck of the woods). I love the idea of these kinds of theaters, but have yet to try one...

We have one by us, and I like the idea, but it gets lost by uninspired staff

If the staff doesn't hustle you end up getting served mid movie, instead of early, or during coming attractions

Then if they goof off a bit you're food gets served cold or forgotten

It might get executed better elsewhere, but we stopped going.
