Disney Parks have been selling helium filled balloons since 1955, and they've become a time tested fan favorite souvenir for Walt Disney World guests of all ages. While these bright and beautiful souvenirs are always popular, there are just a couple of things to remember when considering a purchase.
Balloons for purchase can be found at both the Magic Kingdom on Main Street U.S.A., and at Disney's Hollywood Studios on Hollywood Boulevard. Friendly balloon vendors stroll these streets with bouquets of their colorful wares. If you're not prepared for it, the cost of a Disney balloons can be a bit staggering. The princess and silver mylar balloons are $10. The Frozen and Glasshouse (double colored ones) are $12, and the Light up Glasshouse Balloons are $15. In addition, balloon bouquets can also be delivered straight to your room by Disney Floral and Gifts.
When I was a little girl, I thought selling balloons at Disney World might be the best job in the world. My 10 year old self was convinced that they were purveyors of happiness. It takes skill and technique to wrangle all of those balloons through the crowds and wind. Have you ever wonder how those classic Mickey balloons get filled? Can you purchase the glasshouse balloons anywhere other than in the park? We couldn't take our on the plane home so I'm hoping to pick up another for my kids as a reminder of the great time we had at Disney World.

That's a great question Dan and I'm afraid that I don't know the answer. I would check with your local party stores to see what they have available.

Hi, message for Dan. Might be a bit late now, but you can get these balloons away from WDW. Most balloon shops will stock the necessary balloons. If they know how to fill 'glasshouse balloons' (which are not easy to do) they can make these up for with with Qualatex Mouseheads and a 24" Qualatex Bubble. The only difference is that they won't have the Walt Disney World imprint which is only available within WDW, but you can get the mouse head balloons with a Mickey Face printed on them. I have made a bunch of these up at home for my approaching WDW holiday to get us in the mood. Quite tricky got do, but once you know how.... I hope you get back to WDW before too long.
