Today over at the Disney Parks Blog, a live chat was held with Imagineer Melissa Jeselnick. The Imagineer revealed some details about the currently-being-revamped Test Track in Epcot.
First off, Jeselnick said guests can expect a totally different queue area, noting it "will look like nothing guests are used to seeing it look." The design aspect of automotives will dominate the queue; look for "items, sketches, cars and models from GM that have never been seen outside the Chevrolet family."
Next, guests will be able to design their own Test Track vehicle in the pre-ride experience. A guest's design, which will be "scored in such areas as Capability, Efficiency, Responsiveness and Speed," will follow them to the ride itself where they can experience it in action. After the ride is completed, guests will be able to compare how their design and concept fared against other guests'.
While the track itself will remain unchanged, there will be new music, lighting and sound effects throughout the ride.
What should guests look forward to most with the reimagined Test Track? Answers Jeselnick:
I think the coolest thing is how we integrate the pre-show with the experience, and then in the post-show, your ride vehicle travels through the entire experience with it. And you can keep interacting with your ride vehicle after.
As of now, there's no set date as to when guests can experience the new and improved Test Track, though it is expected to open in the fall.

I'm so excited! I loved the old test track but it broke down a lot. I hope they fixed the bugs. ;)

I just hope that they don't remove the "Moo" sign from the attraction. I have some fond memories of being stuck in a test track ride vehicle in front of "Moo".
