Located on the back side of Raglan Road, just across from the bright blue waters of the springs site a charming little quick service with Dublin style fish and chips, burgers, and a rotating selection of meat pies that will keep you coming back for more. If you're looking for a phenomenal meal with the tastes of Irish comfort foods, Cooke's of Dublin is where you want to be.
Just like the Hole In The Wall Bar next door, I walked past Cooke's of Dublin for years not realizing it was there. If one isn't really paying attention they might just think it's another entrance to Raglan Road since it is part of the same complex. Don't make that mistake! The exterior may blend in with Raglan Road, but the food has a flavor all its own.
The theme here is clean and simple, there's no flash in the simple counter and green and white tiled walls with black accents. When you walk in the door the counter will be directly in front of you, just step up and order. Off to the right past the beverage station there is a limited amount of simple interior seating, in addition you can find more tables outside in the fresh air.
The food at Cooke's of Dublin is cooked fresh to order and comes our hot and tasty. Unlike the more refined take on modern Irish cuisine you'll find inside Raglan Road, Cooke's of Dublin is all about those fast staples including fish and chips, battered chicken tenders, hog-in-a-box, house pie of the day, and some incredible burgers.
After you order you will be given a table number to identify you with. When you find your table just stick the number in your condiment holder so you can be identified. It's a low-tech solution that still works great.
On my visit I ordered The Incredible, a Jameson Irish Whiskey Barbecue Burger with Onion Ring, Dubliner Cheese and Arugula. It may very well be the best burger I have ever eaten at Disney. The flavor was rich and meaty with melty dubliner cheese. Even though this is called a Barbecue Burger, the unique flavor of the sauce comes from the Jameson Irish Whiskey its made with.
Of course.. The Incredible comes served with a side of chips otherwise known as fries if you're from this side of the pond.
If you still have room after filling you belly with Irish comfort food there's more to indulge in. Desserts here are a simple but delicious selection of humongous cookies that include Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal and Honey, or the very popular Jammy Dodger.
You can get an entree and non-alcoholic beverage here for one quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. However, if you want booze you will have to go to the bar next door and pay separately. It makes using the DDP here a little less cost effective but the food is completely worth it.
Have you eaten at Cooke's of Dublin? If not, I highly recommend you schedule it in to your next Disney Dining plans. If you have I would love to hear what you enjoyed the most! Leave a comment below and share your thoughts.
