Journey of the Little Mermaid Scheduled to Close in February for Refurbishment

New Fantasyland has been open for two years and one of the land's popular attractions is set to close for a refurbishment in February.

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid will reportedly close on February 2 to undergo an extensive refurbishment. The ride is scheduled to reopen on March 6.

According to reports the refurbishments will be similar to those made to the Disneyland version of the attraction earlier this year.

The Disneyland refurbs included adding static fish figures around the ride's first screen and in the tunnel headed into the Under the Sea sequence and the use of black lights in the Under the Sea sequence and other parts of the ride.

The addition of black lights is used to hide the infrastructure in the ride.

There has been no official word from Walt Disney World with regard to this refurbishment.

Awwww, it will be closed when we're there. Too bad, I really enjoy this ride.
