LeFou’s Brew Mocktail at Gaston’s Tavern

Now that the New Fantasyland has been conducting soft openings, guests are reporting on all of the magic just waiting for us outside of Cinderella's Castle walls. We've talked a little previously about fun mocktails that can be found at Walt Disney World's bars and lounges, but what about in Park fun? Though the Be Our Guest Restaurant will soon be serving beer and wine at diner, the Magic Kingdom is traditionally a "dry" park and that offers lots of room for creative mocktails to be served.

Gaston Always Decorates with AntlersGaston Always Decorates with Antlers
Gaston's Tavern is a fun location that's featured in the New Fantasyland. Right off of the screen in Beauty and the Beast, this local pub is a favorite hang out for Gaston and his cronies. As we know, Gaston uses antlers in all of his decorating, and that's reflected at this little tavern in a provincial village. Hunting gear and trophies hang on the wall along side a dart board that shows him as the clear and obvious winner. Antlers are everywhere and an over-the-top antler chandelier is a main feature of the Gaston's decor.

The signature beverage at Gaston's Tavern is a fun, fruity mocktail designed to delight kids of all ages, that goes by the name of LeFou's Brew. It's named for Gaston's loyal sidekick LeFou who can be seen supporting his boss with overflowing tankards in the statue fountain out front the Tavern.

This concoction consists of a frozen, no-sugar added apple juice with toasted marshmallow syrup and it's topped with an all-natural passion fruit-mango foam. I'm not a big apple juice fan, but this is just too cute in its golden Belle goblet to not give a try. LeFou's Brew is $9.99 if you order it in a fun souvenir stein or goblet. For for those not interested in the cute cups, you can also get it in a regular cold beverage cup for just $4.49.

Will you be stopping by for a stein of LeFou's Brew when you visit the New Fantasyland? Let us know what you think!

This will seem blasphemous to some, but I wonder if it will challenge the Dole Whip in terms of popularity. Maybe at first, but probably not for long.

That's a good question. I don't think that it will, but it's worth keeping an eye on!

Wow, one for the Mocktail, surprising. It may yet have a shot. I will not have a chance to judge for a while.

OK... after months (probably years) of tnikhing about this, I'm finally going to say it: the new Dumbo is going to be a letdown. And here's why: it's nowhere near the Castle, nor in the heart of Fantasyland. Besides the thrill of riding an elephant, it's always been fun to float around Fantasyland, seeing all the people, the Carousel, and most of all, the Castle. At all the MK-style parks, this is what you do. And Disney should understand the inherent magic of its soon to be former location, as they've been taking publicity photos of celebs on the ride with the castle in the background for decades. Soon, you're going to ride around inside a fairly enclosed area of circus tents and canopies. You'll be dueling with another spinner. These constraints really takes away from the charm of flying free. Plus, you'll get to hear the roar and smell the exhaust of the ever-polluting Speedway, while looking at even more tents and trees. It may be nicely "themed," have a better queue, and less of a wait, but let's be frank: even with poorly themed and long lines, Dumbo has always been a hit. Let's just be thankful there's no room to do this at Disneyland, and hope it doesn't spread elsewhere.
