Magic Band Accessories Debut at the Walt Disney World Resort
As the beta testing of the Magic Band continues at the Walt Disney World Resort, it's being reported that some stores on property are selling accessories for the Magic Bands.
The Magic Bands are lightweight, flexible wristbands that will be used by guests to enter the Walt Disney World parks, access FastPass+ attractions, and more. They are part of the MyMagic+ guest experience that Disney is slowing rolling out to guests.
The most recent MyMagic+ testers have been guests at The Contemporary Resorts and Jambo House and the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The accessories for the Magic Bands include MagicSliders and Cover Bands. The Cover Bands will cover the entire Magic Band and the designs include Minnie Mouse polka dots, colorful Mickey Mouse faces, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mickey balloons, and a red band featuring iconic Mickey shapes. The MagicSliders are made to slide over the Magic Band and fit around the Mickey icon touch point.
In addition to the MagicSliders and Cover Bands, guests can also purchase MagicBandits for their Magic Bands. These are small decorative charms that attach to the bands, much the same way Jibbitz attach to Crocs shoes. The MagicBandits designs include Tinker Bell, Mickey Mouse, Sorcerer Mickey, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Muppets, Phineas and Ferb, and more.

There's no word yet Mkoblin, trials are still limited but from what I understand it's going well.

I think they are a good idea, especially if they offer a watch accessory. When we checked on the bands as AP holders back in March the watch was the most requested add-on. I hope the new bands are issued to the Annual Passholders before we return in October.

Charms or other things to jazz the band up would be cool. Would you have to wear one or could you still be issued a card? I also don't like things around my wrist, they would get hot and sweaty.

We got to beta test the bands June 21-23 at AKL. They were awesome and not as restrictive as I had feared. I love that you can take it off each night and the add-ons were fun.

pinkflamingotravel - From what Disney has said so far when the program is fully rolled out you will have the choice of having either a band or a card.

We will be staying at Pop Century this week and we got invited to join the trial program!! We are all very excited. They ship them right to your home, (over night them) so you start wearing them the minute you get to Disney

We are headed to Pop the week of 8/26 and already have our customized MagicBands in hand. I wore mine around the house today because I have sensitive skin and wanted to see if the rubber would affect my wrist - sure enough, after about 3 hours, I had a raised rash under the band. I am attempting to purchase a cover as soon as I get to the resort or park, and if that doesn't solve my problem, my band will be in my purse all day. :( Does anyone know if the band covers are available through Disney online yet? I did see some on a non-disney site, but I prefer to shop "official". Aside from the skin issues, I can't wait to use them, they seem awesome! I've already made my fastpass+ selections for the entire week we'll be there.

We are going to Boardwalk Sept 1-7, a cruise on the Dream 8-12, and when we return to Jambo House for Sept 12-14 we already have our magic bands waiting there for us. We have already chosen our colours (each of the 6 of us has a different colour), and we have booked our 3 fast passes a day for those 3 days already. A promo video indicated that sometimes people get a mystery 4th fast pass added in, but we did not. Also the system would not let us get fast passes in different parks. Once we started in one park with less than 3, it kept adding in a third automatically. I should also mention that even if you don't like the times they offer, simply accept them. You can then go back and alter the times on each one to any time you like, provided it is still available. One other helpful bit; if you have dining reservations or other events linked into My Disney Experience, the fast Pass system will warn you of potential direct conflicts.

had the magic bands for our recent trip to wdw. pop century resort. 9 guest total in our room. had a pretty good experience with our bands, a few moments of aggravation but in general a good experience. my children all purchased the accessories for their bands from our resort, by the next day some of them had fallen off. after that they decided to take all of the accessories off and not wear them at all, worried they would lose them. we did go back to the resort gift shop and explained to them what had happened. They did replace what had been lost, no questions asked. Even though there are still kinks and the bands are definitely a work in progress, it was exciting to be a part of the process and look forward to using them the next time we come down to visit : )
also, when we checked into the resort, we were given a glow in the dark slider with the year 2013 for our bands. FREE!! Woohoo!!

My trip is next week and Magic Bands arrived yesterday. Already downloaded the Disney App and all my Fast Pass+ reservations are linked to app on phone. Looking forward to seeing how they work. My childs band is well designed with a feature to modify it to fit her small wrist.

We received our bands for our trip the week of Nov 10. Can't wait to try them out! I was impressed with the presentation of how they arrive and what nice quality they seem. We're staying at Wilderness Lodge Villas. Hope it all goes smooth!
