Marvel Characters Coming To A Park Near You?
Spiderman and Captain America alongside Mickey and Minnie at Magic Kingdom? Though it might sound a little farfetched, it looks like Disney has some plans in the works to incorporate Marvel comic characters into its theme parks.
Rumors on the subject have been around since Disney acquired Marvel in 2009, and to date, the only such Marvel characters to be found in the parks are on merchandise. According to President and CEO Bob Iger at Disney's annual shareholders meeting last Tuesday, Disney is working on some ideas to bring the characters into the parks and attractions.
According to Iger:
We're working on some concepts. It's our hope that in a few places around the world, Marvel characters will appear either in attractions or lands or in some form to provide entertainment, like our Disney characters do.
We'll keep you posted if any solid news happens regarding Marvel characters in the parks.
