Monstrous Summer is here! The Walt Disney World Resort announced their Monstrous Summer this week and it promises to be a summer of fun and adventure for the whole family.
The monster-sized summer celebrates the June 21 release of Disney/Pixar's Monsters University, and in addition to the newly wrapped Monsters U monorail, guests will also experience all-new collegiate settings at the Monsters Meet and Greet. When you meet Mike and Sully at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the meet and greet area has been transformed into the Monsters University Student Union. And, the jokes are all new at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at the Magic Kingdom.
For those seeking adventure, be sure to check out the Wilderness Explorers Experience at Disney's Animal Kingdom and A Pirate's Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas at the Magic Kingdom. And over in Epcot, guests can create their own virtual concept car before they board a SimCar and race through the redesigned Test Track Presented by Chevrolet.
But it's not all about the Monsters. Princesses and mermaids are put of the summer fun too. Head over to New Fantasyland for Enchanted Tales with Belle or visit Under the Sea " Journey of the Little Mermaid. And be sure to stop in at Be Our Guest for an incredible dining experience.
If all this fun makes you hungry, be sure to watch for the grand opening of L'Artisan des Glaces, the new artisan ice cream and sorbet shop opening in Epcot in mid-June. If you need an extra boost of caffeine to get through the Monstrous fun, don't forget Starbucks is opening at the Main Street Bakery early this summer, with another location at Epcot by midsummer. And, the California Grill in Disney's Contemporary Resort is scheduled to be reopened by the end of summer, giving guests a new dining room, onstage kitchen, and new menu choices.
And if that's not enough, don't forget the on-going Limited Time Magic giving guest an "extra dose of pixie dust" each week this year. Be sure to catch the Limited Time Magic during Independence Week when Disney celebrates America with a Fourth of July Fireworks Party every night.
