In the past couple of weeks Starbucks has opened two new locations at the Disney Parks and the two stores share a unique feature.
The stores opened in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland and in Downtown Disney West Side at Walt Disney World. And while both stores feature the famous brand's coffee and pastries, they also have a new feature that new for the company.
For the first time Starbucks is connecting customers on opposite sides of the country through in-store interactive touchscreens.
The screens are 70-inch digital display panels and they use built-in cameras to create chalk sketches of guests and their surroundings in the store. And, guests are able to interact with guests in the other store. It's coast-to-coast Disney and Starbucks magic.
Our friends at the Disney Food Blog had a chance to see the touchscreen at the Downtown Disney location but due to the time difference didn't see much interaction with Disneyland. So if you're making plans to visit either of the new locations, keep that in mind.
Guests at the stores are also notified via a board that their video images may be captured on the screens and if they would prefer to not participate they can enjoy their drinks in another part of the store.
Thanks to the Disney Food Blog for use of their photos for this story.
