It's not often that one finds an inscription from Walt Disney that isn't in his famous script, but if you visit the Shadows-on-the-Teche, an antebellum historic home in New Iberia, Louisiana, you'll see his graffiti on a door in the home.
The home is the property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the door has been signed by many people over the years, including Walt Disney, author Henry Miller, and Elia Kazan, the director of A Streetcar Named Desire.
Walt's inscription on the door reads: "To Weeks. The best friend a house ever had. Mickey Mouse [signed] Walt Disney."
Weeks Hall was the name of the owner of the home when Walt visited.
Just a little bit of fun Disney history in a most unlikely place!

I have seen this at the plantation in New Iberia... and the door! It is proudly pointed out on the tour of the house. Shadows-on-the-Teche is really lovely and worth visiting if you are near New Iberia. The city name will sound familiar to James Lee Burke fans, too. He is a popular author whose major series is centered in New Iberia.
