Be My Guest For Halloween ....

Good Morning All...Question this morning is for those who have had dinner at "Be My Guest" restaurant ...How did you enjoy it.?..I've read mixed reviews...Now I know it's not fine dining and I suspect that the beauty is in the decor rather than the cuisine, which I'am ok about...I was thinking of trying to book the MNSSHP party on the same night as an ADR for here..Anyway for those lucky ones ( If any ) that have dined here..Did you enjoy it, and what part of the restaurant were you seated..Can you book, for example, the ballroom suite for your meal,or is it allocated on arrival.?... confused

From what the energiser bunny has told me both her and her Raptor family enjoyed it a lot.As for the different sections i believe you don't get any say in where you are seated.

hey man,

I ate there last May, It was really cool. We went for lunch which was a lot cheaper and pretty much the same food. Now I know that you can fast pass plus it and it doesn't count toward your 3 allocations, neat huh. I want to eat here for luch again in october as we have the dinning plan and I can't see the point of wasting a service credit on it, I would rather just use my counter service credit at lunch but my gf wants to meet the beast at dinner!

We couldn't say where we wanted to be sat but you can wander freely around the rooms, we ate in the ball room, the west wing looks awesome, the clock room is a bit of a let down.

I ate the steak sandwich, it was really good. I highly recommend it for lunch, dinner I don't know but I can't imagine it being any different.

I don't think it really matters where you are seated, the whole place is beautiful. IMO the food is so, so. I wouldn't waste MNSSHP time on it. Too many things to see and do to be sitting in there. Again IMO, it's a one time thing. You have you see it once, but you may not feel the urge to go back. I don't even think it has the charm of Cindy's.

I think they started charging for the grey stuff which is pretty much grey cool whip.

Go to lunch there King Fergus. We sat in front of the window with snow falling. It was magical! You go for the ambiance not the food. The sandwiches we got were great but nothing out of the ordinary. We ate then walked around and took pictures. It really is amazing!

We did lunch and like Colonel, I would recommend trying it once, but it's definitely not going to be a must-do for us every trip. THe line to get in was the longest line we waited in for our entire trip--50 minutes. We did arrive 30 minutes before opening and the CM's actually stopped the line about 3 families behind us. We were almost at the end of the bridge at New Fantasyland. I would definitely try to fast pass this. The photo below is our vantage point from the back of the line.

The lunch and dinner menus are different, but the dinner menu didn't honestly sound that appealing to me, so we just did lunch so we could see the restaurant. I remember thinking that the sandwiches were tasty, but they weren't really memorable. We tried the strawberry lemon cupcake and it was very nicely presented, but I didn't care for the icing. (It's probably really good, but I must have a very mild allergy to something because certain icings stick in the back of my throat and my throat feels like it could close up if if I eat a bunch of it.) The cake itself was good.

We could sit anywhere and we chose the ballroom which was the largest and (I think) the nicest of the three rooms. We were free to move around and take photos, but it was tricky to dodge the waiters and all of the other people who were doing the same thing, but it was nice to have the opportunity. THe lighting is a little bit on the "red" side, so photos are a little off.

It was nice to experience and I would do it again, but it's not fabulous enough that we will allocate time here on our next two quick 5-day extended family trips.

Ugh, now I'm second guessing whether I should switch our plan for BOG from dinner to lunch! Anyone have a really good dinner experience?

Our dinner reservation was hassle free. The food was good the lower crowd level helped keep the magic going for us. Not sure what lunch would look like but guessing every table full. The tables around us turned as well but we didn't feel packed in. We were right in front of the window and I really enjoyed the snow. I will do it again.

King Fergus I went to BOG for dinner on the evening we had reservations for MNSSHP. We ate at 5:00 and were out of there before all the festivities began. I enjoyed my dinner, I had the potato and leek soup and the salmon entree and for dessert the grey stuff (that was just meh).

The vibe I get from reading all the forums and posts is that their lunch is better than their dinner. I only went there for lunch last March and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Granted, their menu is mostly sandwiches and one tasty braised pork dish but it was a good experience. I enjoyed the steak sandwich I got though it was replaced by a roast beef sandwich a few months after my visit. But I mean, with lunch, I recall people got to eat whatever location they wanted so all three rooms were available though it was during the crowded months. But I would think during the off peak times, I would not be surprised if they only allowed two areas to be open. I was able to dine in the ballroom though I sat as close to the exit as I c ould because I was extremely concerned about getting a spot in line for a Peter Pan meet and greet!

As for the long lines, well, yes, it is true the lines are long for lunch because it's new and I remember CMs literally were passing down menus throughout the line to speed the ordering process. With FP+ into play, I don't know if they still do that. I don't exactly remember I waited but it was at least 20-30 minutes, I think. I didn't wait very long for food which made up for it.

I've gotta say on my last trip we did both lunch and dinner, we did lunch and my god i was blown away with the food, we had the pork stew thing and it was out of this world my thoughts were "if this is lunch what on earth is dinner going to be like" we dined in all 3 areas throughout the holiday and although my favourite room was the west wing for theming I didn't really like dining in there as it was pitch black!!! my favourite was the other one that wasn't the west wing and the ballroom, mainly because it was a bit quieter and didn't feel as crowded

however for dinner i was really disappointed it cost like twice as much for the same kinda meal but wasn't as nice, we were practically rushed in and out (or it felt that way!) and because id had such a fantastic experience on lunch just felt like a downer for me - only plus got to meet the beast!

I booked BOG during MNSSHP. It worked out well, although knowing what I know now, if I could get it another night, I would not overlap b/c the ride lines at MNSSHP are so short. I'd have done more rides, the trick or treating, and the shows/parades/firewords and save BOG for another night.

Personally, I do not find the food at BOG to be a culinary cabaret as Lumeire would claim. I've done both lunch and dinner. Both times the food was on the cold side. I did not find the lunch sandwiches enjoyable (although the cupcakes were OMG delish). The steak and pommes frites at dinner were pretty good, would have been better at the proper temp. Beer selection was admirable. It's edible for sure, but I would not go rushing back for the food. HOWEVER, it is an experience NOT to be missed, so mediocre food aside, I say book it whenever you can get it, at least for a one time experience.

After talking it over with DH, I think we're going to plan on this one for lunch. With such mediocre reviews, I'd rather spend less on it for lunch and open up another dinner spot for something else. We're mostly going for the atmosphere, anyways.

Yep, also hate to say it, but my lunch and dinner were nothing to rave about. Cold, a bit dry, etc. but the atmosphere is amazing!

I so hope they will improve the food quality as they progress.

I would still go back for lunch again, just to see it. mickey
