Just got back from spending a day fixing a few things with the new house. Next week, the framed pins will be transported. I'm not having the movers do that simply because (i) it'll be cheaper for me to do that myself and (ii) I don't want anything broken.

Yes, we will still be Windy City'ers, just not right in the city limit itself.
The new house is about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes away from our current location.

Just by about 10 minutes. When I was looking, I tried to look at neighborhoods and towns close to the I-294 corridor to make my commute not as horrible.

When's the big day?
People will come and pack my stuff on the 11. Then they will load them up the trucks on the 12, and deliver and unload at the new home on the 13... That's Friday the 13th for you! 
On the 14th, we have tickets to see the out-of-town preview of the new musical "The Adams Family" staring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. We then have barely a couple of weeks before we leave for Iowa for Thanksgiving. When we get back, it will be time to spend a week at WDW. Then we will have 2 more weeks before Christmas. Oy vey!
Can you say "hectic"? I expect us to be living out of boxers well into next year!
