Day Trip report to Food and Wine

Okays so I am finally making my way over to Epcot to experience Food and Wine Festival. I have picked up a map and circled what I want to try when I go so I don't accidentally over spend.

This what I have circled:
Singapore: Seared Mahi Mahi with Jasmine Rice and "Singa" Sauce
Germany: Apple Strudel with Wether's Original Caramel and Vanilla Sauce
Poland: Kielbosa and Potato Pierogi with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream
Italy: Cannoli al Cioccolato (I'm a sucker for chocolate)
Refreshment Port: Orange Dole Whip with Creme de Cacao White (this is the alcoholic Dole Whip right?)

I kept my list small so I don't spend too much.

I'm glad I made good choices for the German and Italian booths! I kept it safe for the foods while trying to be exotic.

Great choices! Somehow we didn't get around to the Italy booth when we were there... no idea how that happened- we LOVE Italian food!

If you decide to splurge on ONE more booth, everything at Canada is fantastic.

My choices are already running a little high and not sure how much I'll be able to afford. But I'll try.

Yesterday I started off at Magic Kingdom. I was there early enough to park in Simba but I opted to walk to the TTC because it was close and I usually can walk faster then the tram. (usually long lines waiting to get on plus they take like 10 minutes to get going) I was there and I found Christmas!!!

I was so happy! As soon as I was able to go in, I saw a group of college program participants and there was one of the class facilitators I knew because I was in their shoes last year and I had to say hi to him really fast. The Move It Shake It Celebrate It Street Party was just kicking off. I watched the floats go by before I had stopped off at Main Street Bakery for something a drink and food. I had gotten the Banana Chocolate Chip Bread and a tall Pumpkin Spice Latte. So yummy! I had eaten my pastry item by the time my latte came out.

After the bakery I headed toward Tomorrowland to go to Space Mountain. I got a fastpass then hopped in line. It was about a 30 minute wait or so. Not too bad. Then I headed towards the Mad Teacup Party because I hadn't been on it in a while. Then to let my head rest cause I was dizzy afterwards. So I figured I would stop by and say hi to my favorite silly old bear. It was time to say hi to Pooh and Tigger.

I walked through the Enchanted Forest of Fantasyland and it was all a semi long wait so I headed towards the Circus. The Great Goofini and the Amazing Donaldo had a short wait, so I went into the circus tent to see them.

Then I went and took a spin on Dumbo the Flying Elephant because it was a 15 minute wait. I had to wait for the current ride to end along with another ride then it was my turn! It was less then a 15 minute wait I'm sure. While I was on, the other side of Dumbo had stopped while in flight. So that group was lowered and let off. It was about time for my fastpass for Space Mountain. I got there and there were cast members outside the ride with the chains up to the entrances with other guests being turned away. Uh oh, Space was indeed down and it had just closed the minute I got there to use my fastpass. I took that as a sign and headed for Epcot to get something to eat and drink.

I was finally there! Epcot for Food and Wine!

I had spotted Pluto right by Spaceship Earth and he had a really short line! So I had to stop and say hi to one of my favorite pups. He was really energetic.

Then I headed to World Showcase but decided to stop by Club Cool to try the new flavors. They aren't as bad tasting as the last batch. I headed straight to the Singapore booth to get the Mahi Mahi with jasmine rice and "singa" sauce. As soon as I got it, I headed back to the refreshment port to get the Orange Dole Whip with the Creme cacao de white. Then I decided to sit down by the Canada pavilion to eat and drink.

Untitled

It was delicious! I had to get a spoon for my Dole Whip so I could mix the alcohol and Dole Whip a little more because I didn't like getting a mouthful of just the alcohol. I then started to walk around the Showcase after I had finished my deliciousness, I had to find a restroom. The one in France had a line so I found one by Morocco. I was going to stop in Morocco and say hi to Aladdin and Jasmine but they had another hour before they came back out. So I kept it moving. I had stopped by the America pavilion to see the Chase lounge. It was really nice. I was going to charge my phone but the only charger I found free for my phone was broken. So after a couple cups of coke and relaxing. I headed back out. I had stopped at the Italy booth and got a Cannoli al Cioccolato. Boy was it delicious!

Untitled

I was going to meet Anna and Elsa in Norway but alas, they also weren't going to be out for another hour or so. I had just crossed the one bridge when some firework tech guys were closing gates because they were moving the barges with fireworks out to the lagoon. It was pretty cool to see. I got it on video.

Then I headed back to Magic Kingdom to use my fastpass for Space Mountain. They let me on without asking questions or me having to explain what had happen. Then I headed towards Frontierland to see if I could find my friend who works in that area. I got distracted because Dream Along with Mickey was going on. I decided to stay and watch it. It's a really good show. I had continued on to Frontierland but couldn't find him. I went to see how long the wait was for Big Thunder Mountain. It was posted as 20 minutes but the line was heading down the hill and decided to pass it up. I hopped on the train and headed for Main Street because I was going to head home because my phone was running low. They had announced that Cinderella's Holiday Wish was at 6:15 and it was about 6 when we arrived at Main Street so I decided to stay and watch that. It was amazing to see and I was able to walk right up to the front area and had a pretty good view of the show.

After the show I ended up going home so I could charge my phone and meet my boyfriend. We went over to Studios for the cast preview of the Osborne Lights. Wow they get more amazing each year. We were offered free hot chocolate and cookies. Here are some pictures I took.

What a fun day!

Hey are the holiday cocktails being served yet at High Octane Refreshments? I know the Gingerbread Cupcakes aren't supposed to be out at DHS until after Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure. I would think so since they are right by The Osborne Lights.

First taste wasn't good because I got a mouthful of just alcohol. They put in the dole whip in the cup then add the alcohol. So I have to mix it in a little better. It was good. But I think the kind they at Flower and Garden was a bit better. I think I like Pineapple Dole Whip better then Orange Dole whip. But I would get it again.
