Disneyland Price Increase.

I definately have to move to Florida. Disneyland just announced price increases. Premium Passport is now $150 more!!! So tired of them continually robbing people. I think I would rather save up money for a once a year trip to Walt Disney World than spend out my butt for Disneyland. You can do so much more at WDW anyway. I'm so depressed. I won't be getting a passport next year now. waiting

Not a problem! It happens. We can solve this easier then lowering the price of the Premium Passport at DL. Sorry to here that. It actually went up $150? Whats the total now?

It's $650/premium passport. Here's a link to the story from the Official Disney Parks Blog.

I saw that....do you think Disney World will increase prices soon because of the new Fantasyland? What do you think is too high?

Wowza! $650? What all does that include?

Do you have options in Cali like we have in FL, for seasonal passes and weekday passes? We even have an Epcot after 4 pass. My family had that for a while and loved it.

Our FL resident annual pass isn't even that much, I don't think. I downgraded to the weekday pass this year, so I'm not sure.

It does indeed look like the premium pass is going up $150 to $650. That's truly a HUGE increase, but it includes parking, various discounts, and there are no blackout dates. I know that Blackout dates are a big deal for Disneyland folks, and the ticket you're looking at has none! It look like there are a couple of other ticket options without all the bells and whistles.

The kids and I had 3 day Park Hoppers last week, we paid $200 per person. So to make the annual pass "worth it" when comparing to the internet special rate we had means that you would have to visit Disneyland about 10 days a year.

Will you visit that much or more? If so, the annual pass is still a good deal for you. mickey

The price increase bums me out because Andy and I were talking about upgrading our pass when the renewal date hits in December, now I think we will be lucky to renew at all. I'm sure we will find a way to make it work. So far we have gone 12 times this year and have have 5 more "for sure/not our random 'lets go to Disney' trips" planned out so it seems to still be worth it for us. We have already said we will not renew the year we plan our next WDW trip.

Ya know, being a DL CM, CM's aren't complaining simply because our guest quality has gone so down hill over the last 2 years since payment plans were introduced. Unfortunately, Anaheim is a low income area, and every person on welfare has bought a pas because they can afford the payment plans. It's really hard on us because they feel so entitled and are constantly causing problems. They buy the passes but don't buy anything once they get in such as food, souvenirs, etc...It sounds lame, but from a business standpoint, that's the route they have to go.. Sad sad Bummer for our good passholders though!

Interesing hearing a CM point of view.

Wonder if this is what they are doing to make up for the price increase...to make people happy for a short period of time

It sounds to me like that is throwing the dog a bone to keep it from biting.

WOW... that's a really interesting perspective. I have so many things to say and I think my better judgement will just keep my mouth shut.

Do you feel, as a CM, that the Company has raised the cost of tickets to improve the quality of the guest? Or are you saying that purchases on food & merchandise have gone down in the past two years and they have to raise the ticket rates to balance that out?

I would say they are saying because merchandising and food haven't been selling they have to hike up the price of the pass. I can understand that. I can't see Disney hiking up the price to keep low income trouble makers out. Hopefully this will be temporary...

Nothing wrong with being optimistic about it. Theres always room to hope. If enough people protest it, and if they don't sell... they will have to drop the price of it, and think of another revenue. It can happen.

Well apparently this was wrong opinion to post. So my apologies. It wasn't supposed to be offensive. But yes I'm sure it's to make up for them not selling food and merchandise. A don't get me wrong, we have some great AP's but them there Are some who come in and are constantly create problems and demand free stuff.

And Mase I agree with you. It could be temporary. Disney teams work hard at calculating and crunching numbers. If they aren't selling, and aren't paying for lost revenue then they will go back down. Plus they added the Premier pass that is a pass to both DL and WDW..

So there are common trouble makers? repeat offenders? As in you see them walking down Main Street and all the CM's think "Oh God, what are they gonna do this time?" Like this gaah

I just don't get that... I think one of my biggest fears in life might be getting Disney mad at me and getting black listed, or thrown in Disney Jail. From the monorail I saw that Police station behind House of Blues... I promise to always be on my best behavior. angelwings

Lol basically. We had a lady who always brought her dog to our kennel then said we abused it. Mind you we aren't even allowed to touch the animals. So then she's have a manager called and get a free stay. It got so bad she had to call ahead of time for a manager to check her in instead of a cm..And yes Disney jail isn't so magical haha
