Do you Do The Boardwalk?

How do you feel about the Boardwalk area? Do you make it a destination stop in your itinerary even if you're not staying at the Epcot Resorts? How much time do you usually spend there? What all do you do when enjoying this area? And finally do you do the Boardwalk during the day, or only after dark?

i usually stay at the yacht club because of its close proximity to epcot and the boardwalk. i enjoy being able to leave the parks after closing and return to the boardwalk where everything is still open. i usually grab a drink and walk the boardwalk or something along those lines. the atlantic dance hall is always a hilarious people watching spot. plenty of people attending conventions at the swolphin fill it after hours of meetings and let loose. its really the best show in the world.

DH and I made it a point to walk from DHS to Epcot one evening to pass along the Boardwalk. We enjoyed a magic show and a drink before continuing on to Epcot, but we're planning on staying there next trip to make sure we have more incentive to explore.

I've visited the Boardwalk during a couple of different trips, but I don't consider it a must-visit destination. Now, if Spoodles were still there, it would be different. I realize both Spoodles and its replacement, Kouzzina, did/do Mediterranean cuisine, but for some reason the Spoodles menu was full of items that sounded (or were) delicious, whereas the Kouzzina menu just doesn't appeal to me.

During our first trip that included a visit to the Boardwalk, we visited twice, both times to eat at Spoodles, and then walked around enjoying the atmosphere. During a subsequent trip after Spoodles closed, we went during the day and just got coffee at the little coffee kiosk and walked around.

Someday, if our trip is long enough so we don't mind taking time away from the parks, I would like to visit Jellyrolls. But usually, we end our day at whichever park is open latest and then go back to our resort and collapse. Frankly, if it weren't for DisneyQuest, I wouldn't even consider Downtown Disney a must-visit destination. I like the parks best.

I think the Boardwalk is a cool little spot, and for us, a little slice of what it used to look like back home (we're an hour from most NJ shore points). With so much going on in the parks, though, and for as much as we love being in the parks, Boardwalk usually gets left off the agenda. I may feel differently if we stayed there.

I love walking the Boardwalk, although it is essentially a walk through on the way to either DHS or Epcot. I walk that route a LOT every time I am there - love the walk along the waterway. I am SO pumped to be staying at the BW this summer. mickey

We really enjoy the Boardwalk. Since our arrival day is usually a non-park day, we generally stop at the Boardwalk first and walk around, then head to DTD.

Typically, we'll hit it up again on departure morning for some last minute shopping - there's a store there I really like (forget the name, off to the right as you enter the Boardwalk from the Boardwalk resort). I love watching the people in the bike thingis, ringing the bell. I always wave at them. They probably think I'm some kind of freak.

We've never been to the Boardwalk, but we're planning two trips there during our trip in May. One for breakfast at Kouzzina, and another for lunch at Big River Grille.

I always stay ay either Beach Club or Boardwalk, so I always spend time there. I love Jelly Rolls after the parks close. I like to breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery.

I think I've only been to the Boardwalk once and it was on my way to Epcot. Maybe I should consider giving it another go.

We watch the magicians on the Boardwalk a lot and go to the Flying Fish. The store on the boardwalk is pretty good. Never been in ESPN or Kouzzina's or Jellyrolls. I always laugh when I hear people say they want to stay at the Boardwalk because they hear its just like the old AC boardwalk. Then I pop their bubble.

I see we will be at BWV at the same time in May. Stop by after Illuminations, so Pam and I can buy you guys a night cap, or two. Look for Red/Wisconsin shirt or jacket, at a red table:

I love the boardwalk. I've stayed there before... and the rooms are beautiful and the location is prime... We went to visit on my most recent trip and I will have a whole segment in my TR about it... Overall it's a great place to visit!!

We went to the Boardwalk for the first time last November. I actually always thought it was just another name for Downtown Disney, I had no idea it was a separate place eek
We liked it. It was a nice change of pace from the busy parks. We're hoping to rent bikes on our next trip Smile

Out of all the times we've been to Disney, we've never taken time to go to the BW. This year we have it penciled in. We also plan to go to JellyRolls. What's the best place there for snacks? Also...besides The Kitchen Sink, is there anything yummy at Beaches and Cream?

The burgers and steak sandwiches are great at B&C. All the ice cream is good too. Chili, hot dogs..they have all the health foods.

For snacks on the boardwalk, try the Boardwalk Bakery and Seashore Sweets. ESPN Club or Big River Grille and Brewing for burgers/sandwiches or appetizers. Pizza window for a slice. The "To Go Kiosk" has snacks too:

Consider the "No Way Jose" at B&C.

Boardwalk is the one area that in all our stays, we've never visited it!

We always intend to, but then for one reason or another we just don't get there. We've got it planned for our next trip, so with the nice comments above we'll probably keep the plan this time!
