Do you ever visit a park and not ride anything?

This is a pretty common occurrence for us these days. We go to eat or just to get some pictures and do research and wind up riding nothing. Does that ever happen to anyone else?

The only time we come close is if we go to Epcot, but we ALWAYS ride Spaceship Earth... lol

The other parks... just have to ride something. For us coming from Ohio... it would be too hard to not ride something. If I lived within hours of Disney... I see it as more of a possibility

We have never done this either. I really think I would be okay with it though if it were to happen.

Even with my 86 surgeries I intend to ride something in September!! Dangit! I'm not sure I could go and not ride one landmark ride. Maybe after we have gone for the 50th time. Maybe.

Jeff Just make sure that that one ride does NOT cause the need for surgery # 87biggrin . We do care about you over here you know.

Oh definitely! Most likely we go to Epcot and just walk around. We have done the same at Animal Kingdom.

Maybe just an evening jaunt thru the World Showcase, but otherwise we always ride. We only go every 5 years or so, so we aren't missing anything!

eek Excellent point, VL. I will use my best judgment. And then tell Joe to decide, because we all know my best judgment is still worse than his worst judgment....hahaha.

I had to go through every day and night of last year's trip to come up with an answer. Do you want the long or short answer?

One night my friends and I went back to MK just to see the Main Street Electrical Parade. We got there in enough time to secure a spot on the parade route and left right after. We were going to grab something to eat after but the park was closing. We made our way out to beat the crowds leaving after the fireworks. We were able to see fireworks from the bus stop so I didn't miss them.

The second time was the last day of my trip. I wanted to make one last stop at MK and was meeting my friends for lunch at HS (they had gone there to ride TofT). I took the monorail to the TTC and caught a bus to HS. The bus was delayed because of an accident at the parking lot entrance. I got to HS after our ADR time (they hadn't been seated yet). After lunch we went back to Pop to relax by the pool until I had to catch the Magical Express.

The short answer... yes, twice. laugh

Funny thing... I actually WANT to do this some day here at Disneyland. I want to spend a whole day walking around taking photos and that's it. Right now we only get to go about once or twice a year so that is not happening, LoL!

I've done it once at Epcot but I was helping chaperone a high school field trip so perhaps the having to deal with the crazy teenagers had something to do with it wink

I do it all the time at Disneyland but not at WDW. Even our nightly trips to Epcot we end up on Maelstrom.

In fact, I MOSTLY do that at Disneyland and if I DO go on a ride it's something I talk about lol.. hey I actually went on a ride today!

Although, this will probably change once Star Tours opens.

Maybe at Epcot..but that's about it. I mean I know I could just people watch and enjoy the shows..but not a single ride?? Not even the TTA? I couldn't even imagine it.

Never done it! I don't have as strong self restraint. I see a line and my legs keep walking....running to it.

Hmm...not so much recently, but in my CM days. Yes. It's such good people watching, or just good exercise if it's not a time that's very crowded.
