The Hat is coming down!

Well that sucks. I hope it is still there when we go in January.

Even though i am glad it is going i don't dislike the structure itself just the placement.Would be great if it could be re-purposed somewhere else.For example on the right of the entrance to MGM .

I would like to see something open in place of all these closures. Three less attractions in a park with so few to begin with is a tad much.

I love the hat and I hope it will be repurposed elsewhere, but I am beyond excited that DHS is finally getting the renovation that it deserves. I can't wait to see what amazing new attractions, restaurants, etc. will be part of this project!

Hollywood Boulevard will once again look like it was intended to. I would love it if they went back to using the earful tower and Chinese Theater as the park icons, however with the closure of the back lot tour I have to wonder if there will be something new in store entirely? That might (maybe) be fun.

I'm really looking forward to the announcement of what will be replacing everything that has closed. A Pixar Place expansion? A Star Wars Expansion? Maybe even something else tossed in for good measure. Such an exciting time for this Park!

I won't miss that silly hat one bit.

I have never seen the park without the hat. I really don't mind it. I am looking forward to see what is coming.

I'm so happy that the Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow is closing!

I'm pretty happy the hat is coming down. It will be nice to see the Great Movie Ride Theatre as soon as you enter the park. My mother on the other hand is a bit upset. It would be nice to see it repurposed somewhere else. And I am ready for an announcement about what is to come at HS. They really need something going on.

I never really had any strong feelings about the hat because I never went to Hollywood Studios back when it was MGM. But I understood why people hated it in the first place. Looks like with the closing of unpoular attractions and removing the hat, they are making changes for the better in the Studios.

Am I wrong in assuming that a move totally away from a movie studio concept is in the offing? I won't be surprised if a new park name comes down the pike as well.

I'm happy the hat is coming down/on the move somewhere else I just didn't like its position and the movie theatre will be the view that greets you again and I think that the Chinese theatre should be the iconic image for the park!

I was not upset by the news of the Hat coming down. It always seemed in the way. But I have faith that what ever is coming will be better. If The Legend of Jack Sparrow replaced the Narnia thing then I am glad I am missing that.

Hhmmm..Glad we got our photos taken last week at the Hat..Not too bothered about its dismissal ...As far as the legend of Jack Sparrow..This goes into our list of done it once, never again..

I'm glad the hat is coming down but I'm disappointed I never got to see Jack Sparrow! I know everyone says its lame, but I'm sad I never got to see it even once. We put it off until our last day of our trip in September and it wasn't running the whole time we were at the Studios. Which reminds me, I really have to finish my trip report....

I don't think that they will move away from the movie concept of the Park at all. In fact I'm hoping that this will help them bring back the old Hollywood atmosphere into the front the park. I do however think that the reimagining will have less of a focus on movie production and more of a focus on the stories and characters from the movies. Lets face it, the production areas have been falling apart since MGM left. Disney needs to use more than chewing gum and bailing wire to keep the production aspects together. That's not what most people go to DHS for anymore anyhow, they go for the thrill rides, Star Wars Weekends, and Osborne Lights.

I won't miss the hat too much. We did 10 years there without the hat. That said, I'm sure they can find a place for it. It would be a nice weenie for DTD.

As someone who never saw DHS without the hat, I'm pretty excited that it's coming down. It's really cool, but in the context of the park it's really more of an eyesore than not. I'd really like to see it utilized elsewhere, however.

I have literally no opinion on Jack Sparrow closing. I'm not really a fan of the POTC movies outside of the first one (which is excellent), so I had little interest in it to begin with.

I am VERY excited for the changes that are coming to the park, though, whatever they may be! I'd die if we got an expansion of Pixar Place that included Heimlich's Chew Chew Train.

Perhaps move the hat to the entrance of the studios and use it as a bag check point

Ummm did I miss something I thought jack sparrow was ok? Not amazing but good, better than something's that I tried.

Also what used to be in the building that is now Jedi academy and the other half in front of it, I liked the Art Deco shape of the building?

Like the hat but having seen pictures of the original view I would like it moved, not gone, just not in the way.

The thing that I hated about Jack Sparrow was that after standing, waiting and walking all day, you get into the ride and guess what. You stand some more. C'mon give me a bench at least. Other than that I liked it.

I will miss the back lot tour I always liked seeing the shops with the workers working. So where is it that the hat is going? Peg is going to miss the hat she loves Sorcerer mickey if I can find out where it is and surprise her with it when we go next time that would be great.
