How much does a trip run you?

On average, how much does one trip cost you? Including the hotel, admission to parks, money for dining, travel expenses, etc.

Our trip this year, for 3 adults and 3 kids (one is 2 so he is free) - stay at the Poly, dining plan and park hopper passes, is a grand total of around $4,460 eek
then factor in the $900 we lost on airfare and add whatever it will cost us to drive there.
Then we need spending $ and $3oo for the Wishes Cruise. Yea, it's expensive and I don't understand how people go every year? mickey

What do you spend?

With flights, rental car, dining, souvenirs, extras (shows, etc.), and hotel (you can see we like to stay at the lodges), we always top $2000. I think we like to pretend that we don't, but once all the receipts are in, that's where it stands.

But we use discounts wherever we can (dining, hotel, rental car, etc.), so I can't imagine how much it would cost if we didn't shave off so much that way eek

Hi,

My last two trips (2006 and 2007), booked through a local (to me) travel agent, included packages: a solo MouseFest Cruise and five-night stays each year in a deluxe; five nights in All Star Movies in 2007; MYW plus hopping; regular Dining Plan; and some freebies I sometimes didn't use. It came each year to over $4,000.00. I'm still paying off the last trip.

@UL: These were solo trips. If I waited for someone to go with me, I'd never leave home.

Our trips vary widely and there's only 2 of us. I put 2-3 but I think I may be being optimistic. I'm usually too scared to add it up.

LOL - same here. I just did that, which is what prompted this poll. It really is a huge amount.

I never do the math, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the 4k plus and there's only 2 of us.

I put the $1K-2K option. It really does depend on trip length and how much you're TRYING to save cash.

Usually there's only two of us, but I've done trips with three or four adults that budgeted pretty low. If you rent DVC points, stay offsite, or stay in a value; save on food with counter service, snacks, and prepping meals in the room; and use a previously purchased annual pass or don't go into the parks every day, you really can do it cheaply. (Oh, and NO souvenirs!)

Hi,

Nope, not unless I offered to pay for them too. Other than on various Disney web communities, the only people I know who really like Disney are my brother, sister in law and nephew. I'm a lone wolf who spends a great deal of time by himself and has very few close friends.

I'm always getting those questions about why I go to Disney so much. I think Disney parks themselves are Disney's "best kept secret!"

I think she was either being smart, or she needed a baseline from which to build the poll.

I suspect they'd be reluctant to say due to the massive envy it would invite.

I chose the $1-2 option. We can usually stay within that range.

I put between 1-2K for out last trip, but that was only because we bought AP's for the year. I'm thinking since our next two trips this year will be on DVC points and we already have AP's, we should be able to stay under 1K, including airfare for the two of us when we go in September and again in December.

DVC works wonders!
