Quick-serve dinner suggestions???

Hi gang,

For the first time ever, I have planned having several dinners at quick serve places on our trip starting in 5 hours and I need some suggestions.

What are your favorite quick-serve dinner places at Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot? I have 2 planned for HS, 1 for Epcot and 2 for MK.

I have ADRs for: Chefs de France, Be Our Guest, Jiko, Cape May, Narcoosies, Fulton's, Plaza Restaurant, Brown Derby, and Dining With An Imagineer at Flying Fish. I try to schedule at least one new restaurant each time we go--this time I was able to get ADRs at 3 new places! (Chefs de France, Jiko, and Flying Fish).

We usually have breakfast at Boma, a light snack in the afternoon, and dinner at a sit-down restaurant, so I have very little experience with the counter-serve places. Any suggestions?

Patti mickey

For Magic Kingdom, I love Columbia Harbour House. Great food.
For Epcot, I like Sunshine Seasons in The Land. Lots of variety and some different fare from the usual nuggets, fries, and burgers.
For HS, I love Starring Rolls. Great turkey sandwiches, and we won't discuss the cat head sized cupcakes at this time. biggrin biggrin
For AK, I have not really fallen in love with any one place yet ....others will chime in I am sure. I am looking at Flame Tree for my next QS there. I have eated at the Yak & Yeti QS, and it was pretty good.

Your ADRs sound just amazing! Can't wait to hear about it. It's almost here. mickey

Echoing a few of disneydoc's suggestions, here are mine:

MK - Columbia Harbour House
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (definitely!)
HS - Studio Catering Co.
AK - Flame Tree BBQ.

My suggestions are exactly the same! I LOVE Flame Tree, Sunshine Seasons, and Columbia Harbor House and plan to eat at all 3 on our upcoming vacation!

I'll have to remember this thread. I'm thinking of adding a couple of quick service restaurants in our dining plans this year.

Triple Ditto.........except for Flame Tree, it was just plain nasty when we went, food was cold, greasy & just plain bad! It may have changed since, but I m not willing to go back and try.

Epcot - it's hard to find a place that isn't good at Epcot. Sunshine Seasons is good in Future World, and most of the World Showcase pavilions have pretty good to excellent counter service locations.

DHS - Park hop to Epcot. IMO there are no really good counter service restaurants at DHS. But if I didn't have time to park hop, I'd go to Toy Story Pizza Planet or ABC Commissary.

MK - Columbia Harbor House or Cosmic Ray's are my favorites. Both have a really nice variety of food.

I got shut out of sci-fi and prime time at dhs last trip and discovered backlot cafe-the burger was just as good as sci-fi and the wings were good too.

I don't particularly like Yakitori House (Japan) and the quick service place in China. The former doesn't serve yakitori, and the food flavor is bland. The sushi rolls are no different than the ones you get at a supermarket. The latter is your standard American Chinese that you can get at a mall food court.

I give a mildly passing grade to Tangerine Cafe. Gyro being disguised as lamb. Ugh. I tend to go for their vegetarian offerings which are better.

The one quick service place at World Showcase that is outstanding is the new Cantina at Mexico. Very good food there.

Epcot - La Cantina Restaurant (I agree with Z, it's really good!)
HS - Backlot Express
AK - Flame Tree Barbecue

Mk= Cosmic Rays, fun and easy in and out

Am= Flame tree, good BBQ eating along the water is nice.

Et= Tangerine Cafe or Sunshine seasons: We stay away from Mexico because we have great family owned Mexican places

Dhs= Starring Rolls: We don't spend much time in dhs so we eat early and they have great deserts.
