Should the Water Parks have Adults-Only Areas?

On the Disney Cruise Line, they have those adults-only pools (and beaches on Castaway Cay). I wonder if they've ever thought about Adults-only stuff in the water parks. It would be NICE to have a lazy river without a bunch of teenagers and kids in it...

Thoughts? What would you like to see in an adults-only area of the water parks?

I cant see them doing it, maybe in the hotels that have more than 1 pool. I would love to see it though

I don't think they'd ever do it..but it would be nice! We've stayed at hotels in Myrtle Beach that have "adults only" lazy rivers and it is just so nice to float and relax without having to worry about getting jumped on by some kiddo.

I think it's a great idea if they're trying to market more to the grownup crowd. Being able to escape for a little while sounds pretty good to me. I guess I could go to Victoria and Albert's, but that's a little pricey.

It would be nice, but never happen. Just like we had that thread about adults only hours in the parks -- great idea, but unlikely.

An adults only pool at the hotel would be good.

Or maybe just one hidden somewhere on property.

I don't know -- that sounds like it could potentially be a possibility. Now that disney's marketing to uber-rich folks with golden oak and things like the "grape escape" at F&W, maybe an adults-only area of the water parks would make them a little money. People could pay a premium to go there.

With a "swim up" bar...I'd love to float down lazy river with a frozen concoction Smile)

Now that sounds wonderful! I wonder if they have specialty drinks at the water parks; I haven't been in a while.

I think this is a million dollar idea. Does this exist someplace?

Wow! Thanks LIFL. Wish they had a pic. I'll have to go see if there's a website for that park.

It seems like they have really impressive amusement parks in the upper Midwest. I have to say our offerings down here in Texas are not nearly as striking.

I know the water park at Cedar Point had an adults only area, so it isn't unheard of. I would love love love this.

Brad -- What about Schlitterbahn?!

Caitie -- I would, too. An adults-only area might make me start going to the water parks again.

I have never tried Schlitterbahn but I'd like to. I may have overlooked that.

I've never been there, either. I've heard all about it on the travel channel shows. Do THEY have an adults-only area? Will have to check it out.

You know everyone thinks this would never happen and I understand why, but if Disney was thinking big picture they should really try something like this. Right now there's a vicious circle of "there's not a lot of Disney stuff for adults to do, so adults don't go, so there's no reason to make stuff for them." They make a point of doing advertising and promotions to try to bring a more adult audience, why not throw something like this in as well.

They ruined the Meadows pool for adults at Fort Wilderness by turning it into one big playground so I don't think they will consider doing much for adults anywhere else.
When I inquired as to why they did that to the pool I was told they had recieved
d hundreds of letters suggesting it. I replied by suggesting that there were tens of thousands who didn't think any change should be made so why write anything

Great point. I feel like they're catering to those who are extremely wealthy, but not to just "regular" adults.

awesome
Although I am going to suggest a float up bar..you float by and tell the bartender what you want and he makes it and runs down to the end of the bar & hands it too you on your way by..ahh..
This is why people hate Americans.
