Tell me everything I need to know about BCV and BWV

Having booked 2 nights at BC and 1 at BWV last night, I haven't done any research Shock so tell me everything I need to know in a nutshell. I have stayed in the Beach Club before but that was in the normal hotel part. What are the sofabeds like in both of them?

I haven't stayed at either resort yet so I'm not sure I can be much help other than to say that Cape May Cafe is my favorite Character Breakfast, so eat there. mickey

LOL thanks Kristen Smile I have to admit, even staying at the BC we didn't eat at Cape May Shock I certainly didn't want to have dinner there as the smell of fish each day as we walked past was horrific, I hate fish Wink breakfast would be different though. Might see if I can talk Jenny into it.... awesome

One of my daughters had no problem on the sofa bed. The other was crippled after a night on it. I know that is no help at all.

Open it up and look at it as soon as you arrive- you may need mousekeeping to freshen it up.

If the weather is nice, spend a few hours at SAB. get there at 10 sharp and get a nice spot with an umbrella.

Try eating at Ale & Compass- hidden gem.

Beaches and Cream of course if you can get in.

Jelly Rolls is a must-do.

Breakfast on the Boards from BW Bakery. One of my favorite ways to start the day.

Belle Vue Lounge has limited breakfast options if you want to grab something without leaving the hotel.

If you want to dance, go to Atlantic Dancehall- you'll most likely have the place to yourself.

If taking a bus get off at first stop (Swan/Dolphin/BW) and walk- saves time and is a lovely stroll.

Ask for the closest room to 110 at BCV- that is the best room in the house.

There are shortcuts to the bus stop from BCV without walking through the lobby.

If you have a Boardwalk View Room- request unobstructed view, upper floor. Call BW front desk two weeks before and ask for the room assigner to make sure you get this.

There is a FREE boardwalk tour- leaves every morning at 10 I think- no ressie req'd.

Don't fear the clown- he won't bother you.

Enjoy the Colonel's Lighthouse.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thank you so much for all that info! We don't plan on using the bus much, we plan on doing Epcot and HS while we are there, leaving AK till we get to AKL and MK just once and think we intend on going via Epcot to catch the monorail Wink

At BWV, request a room close to the lobby or elevators.

Also, an unobstructed view as well - in my trip report I talked about the balcony and tree....but it was only 3 nights so I didn't care.

BW Bakery is awesome!!! Also, the little kiosk with the elephant ear is awesome too!

We just stayed at the Beach Club Resort, not the Villas. Cape May Cafe had a great breakfast. The Marketplace in the Beach Club was also good for snacks or a quick breakfast.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse was excellent. We had the Deluxe Dining Plan, so the prices were not an issue, but in reality, the prices were not that out of line for a good restaurant and the food was well worth it. We didn't spend much time at the Boardwalk because of our other plans on the trip. But the convenience of being able to walk to Epcot and take the boat to Hollywood Studios was awesome.

RZChief, what was your impression of the DDP? Do you think it's worth the extra per day? Great pic too!

Sorry - hijack question!!!

Eeyore, for the wife and I, the DDP was actually too much food. I can't say that it's overpriced, because I don't think it is. But with the DDP, each person gets three meals a day which include appetizers and deserts. Each person also gets two snacks per day. The wife and I renamed it the "stuff your face" dining plan because there was so much to eat. You do get coupons for some other activities such as miniature golf, etc. But we didn't use them. Not enough time really. We dined at a couple of restaurants that actually used two meal credits from the DDP because they were higher end restaurants (Yachtsman Steakhouse being one of them) and we still had plenty of credits not only for meals, but also to take home some "snacks". A friend of mine who is a DVC member told me he never uses a dining plan and feels he gets a better deal by using his DVC discount for meals.

I'm not a DVC member yet and we aren't Disney regulars, so I hope my answer helps.

I agree with RZ on the DDP. My boyfriend and I used it once. Too much food and I made two TS adrs a day with not enough time in between so we were stuffed when dinner arrived. The DDP is great if you plan on dining at a few 2 TS credits restaurants on your trip.
