Who doesn't love wine?

So I hear that AKL has a chance to do wine tasting. But I know absolutly nothing about it. So I'm hoping you wise folks would know!! My mom, aunt, and I are big into wine and I hear AKL has good African wines...Don't know what we'll do with my 14 year old brother while we are wine tasting but I'm sure he'll be just fine awesome

I was going to suggest Simba's Club but that's only up until 12. You could get him an arcade card with like $20-$30 to help keep him occupied while you are doing the tasting.

Jiko has indeed been on the Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards for a couple of years now. I've interviewed the head sommelier in the past and she works very hard and curating a delicious collection. One discovered one of my favorite African wines (Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz) in the Zawadi marketplace at AKL in 2009, and one of my father-in-law's favorites (Goats Do Roam) came from there too.

I like Mandy's idea of giving your brother an arcade card!

Last I knew it happens on Wednesdays at 3pm and costs $25. You could make reservations by calling 407-938-7149.

That information however is over a year old so it could have changed. I would give the number a call to see, and if that doesn't work call the resort.

Not sure if still offered, but we went to a Wednesday afternoon Jiko wine tasting in Nov. 2012. It was $31.25 ea, and includes tax and tip. Sampled 3 wines. Fruit and cheese tray they served with the wine:

I'm not a wine drinker either, but count me in for chocolate tasting!

I love my vino...My wife only drinks white, tho red is my favourite,I can switch to a nice white when we are out dining..As far as African wine goes,I'd recommend a Chenin Blanc for a white...Stellenbosh is a favourite of mine..excuse my spelling but I know that's wrong...As far as reds go,I've tried quite a few and yet to find one I didn't like...Think I've got a problem...LOL..
