Recent progress is on clear view when it comes to the future of Epcot, and the highly anticipated new nighttime extravaganza 'Harmonious.' The icon show platform with its moving fountains, moving lights, show action equipment, pyrotecnics, and six-story-tall central ring structure has been moved into place on the lagoon. While we're just seeing things in the construction stage, it's clear that the future is BIG.
The 'Harmonious' spectacular is still in development and Disney hasn't yet determined when when it will debut, but what is clear is that the groundwork is being laid for a new look on the World Showcase Lagoon. Disney believes in the power of it's vision and in the potential this new show has to tell a story of global connection and celebration. 'Harmonious' will be a tribute to the power of story and song that unite us, leveraging music and visuals from across Disney and artists around the world.
Epcot's transformation for the future includes changing some classic views.
Positioned like a compass, five show barges will will be permanently moored in World Showcase Lagoon. When they are fully functioning, during the day the barges will be disguised as huge sparkling fountains. At night though, they will come alive with color and iconic Disney images set to an extraordinary musical score.
Once complete, "Harmonious" will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars Disney has ever produced. We're busy setting the stage of this innovative toolkit, preparing each of the show's five floating platforms to take its place on World Showcase Lagoon.
