5 (or more) Reasons To Love Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Year after year Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party has become a favorite seasonal event for Disney Travelers and Locals alike. It's a fun and friendly take on a Halloween Party that occurs on select nights in September and October after hours in the Magic Kingdom. There are lots of reasons to love this annual extravaganza, here are my favorite 5!

Trick-or-Treating through the Magic Kingdom brings back the joy of childhood, and you can load up on all the candy you want. Now you may think that this would be the cheap stuff, but no, Disney hands out the name brands in quantity. Just be careful because you don't want your suitcase to be overweight because of and extra 10 pounds of candy your bringing home.

Characters dressed in festive attire, and original Villains come out to play. If you love meeting those rare Characters, especially the Villains, then Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party is a great place for you to meet them all. While lines can be long for the more popular personalities, getting those rare autographs and pictures might just be worth it to you.

I giggle with glee every time I see the Headless Horseman riding through Liberty Square. Maybe it's because Katrina VanTassel is in our family tree, but I think it's an exquisite piece of Americana folklore that Disney brings to life like no one else can. Plus when you catch a glimpse of this ghoul " you know that that the fabulous Boo To You Parade is not far behind.

Be sure to dress up in costume! Most of the year adults are prohibited from wearing costumes into the Disney Parks, however for the Halloween Party special rules apply and grown-ups can join in the fun. You'll see guests dressed to impress in costumes from a wide variety of classic and modern Disney films. I love seeing groups of people who all decided dress in one theme.

After dark on party nights the Park is sinisterly delightful, and guests will find added sound and lighting to add to the spooky atmosphere. However no night at the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a dazzling fireworks show. HalloWishes, seen only during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, is one of my favorite Wishes variations. Now everybody scream!

It was so hard for me to pick just 5 things! I also love the Halloween themed snacks you can only buy at the party, special Halloween Party merchandise, the DJ'd dance parties with Characters, the short lines on some of my favorite rides, the extra themed live entertainment. There are so many reasons to choose. If this all sounds like fun to you, be sure to buy your tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party soon!
