This truly astounding highlight of the Wilderness Lodge Lobby captures the essence of the grandur in our natural world. The 82 foot tall geologic chimney created by Imagineers faithfully recreates the strata of America's Grand Canyon detailed right down to the fossils that would be found in the natural rock. Keep your eyes open and you might even discover a Hidden Mickey.
Truly one of the more stunning themed pools at Walt Disney World, Silver Creek Springs is surrounded by natural looking rock-work and extensive landscaping. Feed (via a little Disney magic) by a bubbling spring that rises up in the hotel's main lobby, this complex pool with a slide, spas, and wading pool offers guests a magnificent spot to spend an afternoon outside the theme parks. Don't forget to grab a cocktail from the Trout Pass Pool Bar.
Every day one lucky family staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge gets picked to wake up early and help the Wilderness Lodge Cast Members raise the flags on top of the resort. It's a special honor and a wonderful tradition of Americana that make this resort just a little more special.
It may not be on the monorail, but Disney's Wilderness Lodge offers direct access to the Magic Kingdom via boat service. Rarely more than 15 minutes apart, these water shuttles offer a delightful 5-minute voyage over Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon right to Mickey's Door. Seasonal service also runs to the Contemporary Resort and Fort Wilderness Marinas for guests looking to resort hop across the water.
This table service restaurant is just plain fun for guests of all ages. With down home food and all-you-care-to-eat platters you get a lot of bang for your buck at Whispering Canyon. Though there are no official Disney Characters here, the wait staff is entertaining and creates a fun and interactive dining experience.
