5 Things I Love About Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World on June 30, 2018 and ever since fans have been flocking to play with the whole toy Box Gang. Three fun rides, character meet and greets, clever entertainment, and a great quick service restaurant have made this new land a fast favorite for many Disney fans. I recently visited the toys in Andy's Backyard, so that I could share with you 5 Things I Love About Toy Story Land.

The Toy Look of Everything

There's an undeniable charm to how Toy Story Land is themed. Within the larger-than-life-setting of Andy's backyard guests are shrunk down to the size of toys to play along-side pals. Popsicle sticks and tinker toys and cardboard boxes create a world from Andy's imagination where the whole gang shows up for adventure. If magic is in the details you want to be sure you don't overlook a single thing. It's great by day, but come back when its lit up at night for a whole new perspective on things.

Toy Story Mania

This attraction has been a fan favorite for years, and the FastPass+ to get a ride is always a coveted accomplishment. First make your way through a toy chest before picking up a pair of special 3D glasses and boarding a spinning carnival-inspired tram. Use your spring-action shooter to take your best shot at an array of moving targets to collect enough points for victory! This is also the only real indoor attraction in Toy Story Land, so if you are looking to escape the heat a bit this is the place. Plus - you can play your way through the Toy Story Mania queue on the Play Disney Parks App.

The BBQ Brisket Sandwich at Woody's Lunch Box

This sandwich was so good. Eating it may actually be my most favorite thing to do in Toy Story Land. The Bread was thick and chewy, grilled to perfection, inside the brisket was lean and topped with just the right amount of BBQ sauce. The other items we noshed on were pretty good too. But that sandwich - it's one of those things I get cravings for even now I'm home.

Sarge & The Green Army Patrol

Check your Entertainment Guide because several times a day Sarge marches his troops through Toy Story Land before settling in to get a read on new recruits. This hilarious interactive show is especially fun for adults that remember what boot-camp was like themselves. If you see Sarge on the march, be sure to follow his lead to fun.

A New Restaurant On The Way

Coming Soon! I love the idea that they are putting in a new Table Service Restaurant in Toy Story Land. Woody's Lunch Box had great food, but as the only restaurant it was way over crowded. The new restaurant that has been announced is called "Roundup Rodeo BBQ" and will have a new "playset" theme built by Andy that resembles a rodeo. There are several Disney Restaurants that aren't too shabby when it comes to their BBQ, I'm really looking forward to giving this one a try once they open. No opening date has been announced.

While I really enjoyed Toy Story Land there were a few things I wasn't overly thrilled about. I would have liked for them to build in more shade for guests, perhaps in the form of the giant clovers that used to dot the Bug's Life section of Disney's California Adventure. If those are just sitting around on a storage lot these days, they should be shipped to Florida ASAP. I also wish that they had built a gift shop. Sure there are souvenir kiosks dotted down the path, but the merchandise was fairly limited. It was actually hard to find decent Toy Story Merchandise for adults in Toy Story Land, there is room for improvement here and hopefully it's something we will get in the future.
