Continuing the tour of places to chill out and relax at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Today I'm looking at attractions to escape to when you need to take a mid-day break at Epcot. These five great attractions are perfect places to get off of your feet and into some air condition before you head back out for the rest of your day.
Located in Future World the Universe of Energy is a great spot to settle down and cool off, especially if you're traveling with little ones. Entitled Ellen's Energy Adventure the feature attraction stars Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy. The ride is 45 Minutes Long, with an entertaining pre-show as well that creates a possible hour and a half of space to kick back and relax in fairly dark air conditioned bliss. If you arrive early enough you will be able to find a bench for the pre-show, but most people just camp out on the floor.
On the other side of Future World you can find The Land Pavilion with a bevy of relaxing options. Adults touring with groups may find this a great opportunity to grab a beer or a glass of wine and have a seat in the Sunshine Seasons food court while the rest of your group tours the pavilion. The Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable is a 12 minute long movie. Living with the Land is a relaxing and educational slow moving boat ride on technology in agriculture and makes for an enjoyable 15 minutes.
Moving on to World Showcase Impressions de France offers an 18 minute cinematic tour of the French countryside, major cities, various regions, and important structures. It's a beautiful, relaxing film in a climate controlled, seated theater that makes for the perfect escape on a summer day.
For many Grown-ups touring Epcot the day can be all about 'Drinking Around the World'. But it's important to make sure you get some rest time out of the heat at the Rose & Crown Pub and La Cava Tequila. These two amazing bars, both have a fun atmosphere and an air conditioned place to sit while you enjoy a drink or two. Don't forget to order water and some snacks as well.
Last but not least my all time favorite place to sneak in a nap at Epcot, The American Adventure in World Showcase. You can get a seat in the waiting area to listen to the wonderful voices of America Sings, and then head into the comfortable theater for a 29 minute show. Combined this is a pleasurable hour off of your feet and out of the heat and sun.
Next time you need a rest during your touring schedule, be sure to remember these great places to take a break! Do you have a favorite spot to slow down when you're in Epcot? Do you have a special place to sneak in a secret nap? Leave me a comment and let me know where you go to revive in the middle of the day!

American Adventure is my favorite, too, but NOT for a nap. I truly enjoy the show!

Our family always booked a late lunch in the Mexico pavilion... Meals at lunch are much less tan dinner with the same quality, and then we would do the boat ride a couple of times. Nice way to carve out 90 cool minutes from the hot summer afternoon sun!
