A long-time fan favorite resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge lets guests step back in time and into the classic holiday lodges of the Pacific Northwest. One of my favorite resorts to eat at, Wilderness Lodge offers a little something for everyone. For a quick service breakfast Roaring Fork serves up a solid selection.
On my last visit I discovered a pastry that hit all the high points of fresh breakfast delights. Or - a fabulous afternoon snack if you're wandering by on the way back from your pool. Let me introduce you to the Berry Croissant.
Yes, I know, it looks pretty simple. The beauty in this is that each one of the simple components is executed perfectly to create a light yet sweet pastry that has a fresh berry burst of summer flavor. I could easily make a habit of these beauties.
A flakey classic croissant with just the right bite is cut in half, and filled with a silky smooth vanilla custard. Vibrant fresh raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries and nestled into the custard, the croissant is closed and the whole thing is just kissed with powdered sugar.
I was a big fan of the restraint they used with the powdered sugar, this gives you that extra sweetness without being choked by it, or ending up with white sugar powder all over your shirt.
Take a look at what else Roaring Fork is serving up for breakfast. Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog recently stopped by to Review: Breakfast at Wilderness Lodge's Roaring Fork...And Some Seriously Amazing Chicken and Waffles. This Disney Quick Service is serving up some seriously good eats.
