If I had to choose just one season to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, it would be fall. I love spring and the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. Summer at Disney is HOT and that's about it. Winter is nice. But fall? It's extra magical and this fall there is so much going on that you just can't miss!
Today we're going to list some of the top reasons why you should think about visiting Walt Disney World this fall including Halloween, the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, and much more!
Of course, the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is the BEST reason to visit Walt Disney World this fall. The Festival starts this year on September 14 and runs through November 14. And while food and wine is the centerpiece of the Festival every year, don't forget about the low-cost seminars and demos, celebrity chefs, mixology and wine seminars, special events including Party for the Senses, and the Eat to the Beat concert series!
Our friends at the Disney Food Blog have the most up-to-date information on all things Food and Wine! You can check out the menus for all the Marketplace Booths, information on this year's Special Events, the list of the low cost seminars and demos, and the Eat to the Beat concert schedule!
Speaking of food, Disney Springs is the place to be right now if you're looking for great food! This summer saw a full slate of new restaurants opening including STK Orlando, Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine, Frontera Cocina, and more.
Other new spots include Sprinkles (cupcake ATM!!), Morimoto Asia Street Food, a variety of kiosks including B.B. Wolf's Sausage Co., and well, let's just say you won't go hungry at Disney Springs.
This fall Disney Springs is set to welcome Paddlefish (formerly Fulton's Crab House) and the redesigned Planet Hollywood Observatory, with a burger and sandwich menu designed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
And don't forget about the Great Irish Hooley at Raglan Road on September 2-5!
The highlight of any fall visit to Disney World has to be seeing the Magic Kingdom decorated for Halloween. It's my favorite holiday and there's nothing quite like celebrating at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
This year MNSSHP takes place on select nights from September 2 through October 31. The party includes trick-or-treating around the park, Happy HalloWishes fireworks, Mickey's Boo-to-You Parade, and more!
Ticket prices are tiered based on the party date. And don't forget to check out the updated Halloween costume guidelines.
Club Villain is also returning to Disney's Hollywood Studios on Friday and Saturday nights from September 2 through October 29. The special ticketed event includes Disney Villains, food, cocktails, and more. Times are 5:15 and 8:30 p.m. and reservations can be made online or by calling 407-939-3463.
Halloween isn't the only celebration happening at the Magic Kingdom this year! On October 1, the Magic Kingdom is celebrating its 45th anniversary and to celebrate Disney has a slate of special commemorative merchandise that will be available at the parks with select items available on the Shop Disney Parks app!
Disney's Hollywood Studios might be in the middle of a huge construction project for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land, but it's still a hopping place! Not only can you enjoy Club Villain, but the first-ever Muppet-themed restaurant, PizzeRizzo, is slated to open this fall in the Muppet Courtyard.
The restaurant is located in the former home of Toy Story Pizza Planet and is owned and operated by Rizzo the Rat (so the story goes).
And then, after all the fall festivities are over the holiday season kicks into high gear with the start of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on November 7 and Holidays Around the World and the Candlelight Processional on November 25.
If you're making plans to visit Walt Disney World this fall, don't forget about the room discount that can save you up to 25 percent on rooms from August 26 through November 5. This deal must be booked by August 31!
Are you planning to celebrate at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival or Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this fall? Let us know in the comments.
