Amongst the recent dining additions at Disney Springs is a quick service spot to stop by for a perfect pizza pie made just for you. Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza is serving up custom-built artisanal pizzas, and freshly made gourmet salads that suit each guests taste. While Blaze is a chain fast-casual restaurant, it makes for a great fit at Disney Springs.
Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza is situated in a building that was once the town lumber mill. It's combination of exposed wood and industrial chic decor is utilitarian but pleasant enough with it's floor to ceiling picture window, and a deck that juts out over the blue waters of the springs. Communal tables with bench seating gives the impression that lumber is still moving through the space in its original purpose.
The high ceilings, slick surfaces, and lack of sound cushioning means that it can get pretty loud inside this restaurant. If you're looking for a little less noise and crowd, head outside to the deck I'm not so sure that Blaze is interested in guests sitting down to stay awhile. It may look cool inside, but I found the seating to be fairly uncomfortable, and overall mood of the restaurant to be all about turn over.
Ordering from the menu at Blaze is pretty simple. Guests are welcome to chose from a selection of unique signature pizzas, such as the Green Stripe pizza with pesto and arugula, or the White Top pizza with its cream sauce, bacon and garlic. The signatures indulge guests in fun flavor combinations that you can't get from just any pizza joint.
In addition there are four different base salads that health conscious diners can chose from in side or entree sizes.
But - if nothing from the signature line strikes your fancy, you are welcome to build your own from the huge variety of toppings on hand. Just step on up to the line, choose your crust classic or gluten-free, and tell the friendly pizza artist just what you want to top it with.
Go ahead - pile on all your favorites! If you want more sauce just let them know. If you want four quarters of the pizza made differently, just let them know. Veggies under your cheese instead of on-top, they'll do that too. The only limit to the pizza creation is your imagination.
The one problem I did have with this set-up is that there are some known allergy inducers in the line-up that have a high chance of cross-contamination. Our issue here was that the blue-cheese can easily fall into the Mozzarella. If you're worried about allergens, just speak up and they will do everything they can to accommodate your needs.
After you've built your perfect 11-inch pie it's moved on down for a fast-fire of 180 seconds in a blazin' open flame oven. I really enjoyed watching the pizza artists moving the food in and out of this oven, it takes some skill, and they have it all down to a science.
You pie will come out with a crisp crust and magnificently melty cheese. I was so excited, I completely forgot to get pictures of my food. Luckily our friends over at the Disney Food Blog had me covered. Blaze is serving up some seriously tasty pizza, which many aficionados have argued Disney was in desperate need of. With all the customization available, I don't see how one can really go wrong with a pie from Blaze.
The pizza at Blaze was great, and the service super-fast. If you're looking for a quick pizza fix this is the place to go. However - If you're looking for a relaxing family meal around some pizza, I'd stick with Via Napoli in Epcot. Just one more note - this is a Quick Service Restaurant on the Disney Dining Plan which means you get an entree and a drink. The value really isn't here if you are on the Deluxe Dining Plan, consider paying out of pocket.
Oh! One last thing - you can pop in and get your Blaze to go. This is an especially sweet option for guests staying in nearby Resort Hotels such as Saratoga Springs.
We want to thank our friends at the Disney Food Blog for exclusive use of their images to fill out the article. On my visit, once the food came, I was distracted by eating. To get a full review of Blaze Pizza at Disney Springs, head over to their site and read up on all the fast fire'd goodness.

I love Blaze Pizza. Even hubby liked it, and he normally is not a big fan of pizza.
