Celebrating International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day

Just in case you were wondering, the first Saturday in February (February 7th, 2015) is International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day! Now there's a holiday I can really dig into, and Walt Disney World is home to some of my favorite ice cream treats. Where can you find some deliciously creamy concoctions early in the morning? Here are just a few of our favorites.

Aloha Isle - The Magic Kingdom home to a sweet and delicious cult classic Dole Whip is one of my favorite Magic Kingdom snack spots and they open bright and early every morning. I'm not ashamed to admit that I've eaten more than one Dole Whip for Breakfast over the years. Sadly, Captain Cooks at the Polynesian no longer offers a Dole Whip machine with 24 hour access, and the Pineapple Lanai doesn't open until 11am.

Ice Cream Carts - My the moment we enter any Disney Park my daughter is searching out the first open Ice Cream Cart she finds, because her go-to morning treat is a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. You just can't go wrong with luscious premium ice cream covered in a rich, crisp layer of chocolate. These can also be found at the Quick Service restaurants in the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, so you can grab one before you even hit the Park!

Sleepy Hollow - Open for breakfast to serve up some of the tastiest waffles around, this Liberty Square stop also has a killer ice cream sandwich. Perfect for when you need a little something more solid in your tummy, our friends at the Disney Food Blog describe it as "Two big, beautiful chocolate chip cookies, smooshed together with vanilla bean ice cream make up this simple treat." I say that's totally breakfast food.

Hit the Buffet - Many of the Buffet style restaurants offer soft serve ice cream on their dessert bars. We've eaten ice cream sundaes with chocolate sauce and sprinkles for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey's.

Don't forget to celebrate International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day tomorrow! Thanks so much to our friends over at the Disney Food Blog for exclusive use of their images and input into the best spots to grab ice cream for breakfast! Where do you eat ice cream for breakfast on your Disney vacation? Come on, I know you do it too " leave me a comment and share your favorites!
