Staggering from my room in the morning on the way to the park drop I vaguely regret the excess of too many Grey Goose slushies the night before. Food is a must have and I've got a reservation at Boma, but what I'm really looking forward to is a Mimosa. This simple morning drink of one part orange juice, and one part champagne is a Mother's Day Brunch favorite that I've declared my vacation staple. Invented in Paris in 1925, it's a sweet bubbly delight commonly served in a chilled champagne flute and garnished with a strawberry.
You can find morning cocktails on several of the menus at Disney table service restaurants, however if you're at a buffet you'll have to ask your server if they are available. Honestly, I've never eaten at one (outside of the Magic Kingdom) that told me they couldn't come up with a little OJ and champagne for me. Where was I served the best mimosa I've ever had? Without a doubt at Akershus in Epcot's Norway Pavilion.
I'm pretty much a Mimosa girl, but it's not the only cocktail you can order for breakfast at Disney. The Polynesian Resort's Kona Cafe has a wicked good Wasabi Bloody Mary, over at the Contemporary's The Wave you'll find an exciting Pomegranate Splash, and at Kouzzina on the Boardwalk you can order up their Sunrise White Sangria by the pitcher. It's vacation, and you're a grown up, go ahead and have a cocktail for breakfast. We won't tell.
Do you have a favorite morning cocktail that you like to indulge in at Disney? Leave a comment and let us know what it is!

Mimosas are my favorite morning cocktail, also - and the only one I've ever had since the other morning standby, the bloody Mary, includes tomato juice, which I hate. I've never had one garnished with a strawberry; my favorite presentation involved a light coating of sugar around the rim of the glass.
The pomegranate splash and sunrise white sangria sound good; if I ever make it to The Wave or Kouzzina for breakfast I will be sure to try them.

The new bakery in France opens at 9am and serves Mimosa's from 9 am on, you can also buy a beer and plain champagne from opening.
