Disney’s Animal Kingdom Celebrates 25 Years Of ‘The Lion King’ In 2019

Simba, Timon, Rafiki and a friends across the grasslands first sang their way into our hearts in Walt Disney Pictures' "The Lion King" in 1994. 25 years later, Disney's Animal Kingdom will celebrate the animated classic's milestone anniversary with a party fit for a king.

You'll have no worries beginning January 18th and running until to September 30th, 2019 when you spend time at the "Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party." Hosts Timon and Rafiki are planning a celebration with entertaining dances and plenty of games all inspired by "The Lion King." Adventurers young and old will be able to release their inner animals on the dance floor as they jam to talented live performances drumming out World Beat music.

New three-dimensional photography backdrops at the Park will allow guests to re-create iconic "Lion King." Made for your next Instagram, you'll be the star of these scenes as you step into moments from the film ideal for sharing on social media platforms. Special photo ops are also running from January 18th to September 30th, 2019.
