Do you pay off your Disney World trip before you go? [Facebook poll]

Over on the Walt Disney World for Grownups Facebook page, we recently asked the question, "Do you pay off your Disney World trip 100% before you go?"

The overwhelming answer was YES! So not only are our Facebook fans traveling to Disney World, the majority are traveling to Disney World with no vacation debt.

Here's some of what you told us:

Martha O. said, "ABSOLUTELY...I pay it off 100% at the time I make my reservations."

Carol M. said, "We book early and pay it off monthly before we go. We get the dining plan so we only have to worry about other incidentals and souvenirs when we are down there."

Melissa G. said, "Yep we do.. I paid ours off a month ago, and we leave 6 weeks from today."

Heidi T. said, "YES!!! Can't enjoy it if we still owe on it. We buy the dining plan too so it's in a nice package."

Stacie R. said, "Absolutely!! I only want to spend money for tips (for dining plan), alcohol and t-shirts!"

Gina P. said, "We're part of DVC so it is paid off as of 2004. The only thing I have to pay for is food and souvenirs and I use my Disney Visa rewards for some of that."

Laurie B. said, "Yes - otherwise I would not enjoy it as much - plus this way - can plan next one."

Just a few folks didn't have resounding YESes to share.

Anna S. said, "Some years we do others we don't. This past February we paid it off when we returned with our income tax refund; 2012 trip should be paid before we go."

Sarah S. said, "Depends... if I have the money then yes, but I may only pay half off if I can't pay in full."

Sherman H. said, "We use Disney Visa and take advantage of 6 months free finance. We pay in full when we return."

I have usually paid it off before I go but for my next trip I am taking advantage of the 6months, 0% with the Disney Visa.

DVC Member. Just pay for airfare, food, and passes. So its pretty easy.

..We go to WDW each year & always pay our trip off a few months before arrival. We're military~So we take advantage of the deep discounts on the room rates (we've never done the DDP yet,so we also save by not doing that!) Since we don't have to pay what the general public pays for the tix..we also use the 'Salute' tix & add on extra days to those~a great money saver too! Since we're saving so much money we're able to always stay either 'moderate or deluxe'..love it!!!

I never really thought about it but I guess I do pay it off. Then I save up until it's time to leave and I have a nice lil stash o'cash to take with me!

The only way to go is to pay it off in advance. Going on vacation and really relaxing. Tips and souvenirs is the cash I carry and I usually go home with money!

When I booked my trip last year, I put it on a credit card since I booked two months before the trip. I had most of it paid off before I went and paid the rest when I got back. I am going again this year in November. The trip is booked and I am making payments. This trip will not see a credt card.
