I'm often asked for suggestions on how to combat the post-Disney blues, especially during the colder months of the year. When the temperatures plummet through a polar vortex and send you into a deep freeze there's no better time to head someplace warm and sunny even in your head. Most folks can't just pick up and go on vacation at a moments notice, so why not do a little day dreaming about those warm summer days. Everyone fights the Disney blues now and again so we're offering up eight great suggestions for taking a vacation in your imagination.
1. Wear your favorite ear hat. Sure, you're family may think you're a little strange, but didn't they know that already? I guarantee you'll make them smile.
2. Plan your next Disney vacation. Not going soon? Plan your "dream" vacation, it's more fun when you don't have to stay within a real budget.
3. Make a pot of Disney soup! How about the Clam Chowder from Liberty Tree Tavern, or maybe Boma's Coconut Curry Chicken Soup. It will help keep you warm and remind you of your happy place.
4. Go on a virtual Disney ride-a-thon, watch a show, or walk through the Parks via YouTube. Jeff Lange DVD and our friends over at AllEars.net have uploaded some fantastic videos from all over Walt Disney World, like this one below of Holiday Wishes - Celebrate The Spirit of the Season.
5. Listen to Disney Music or Podcasts. We're especially fond of the Disney Food Blog Podcast around these parts.
6. Use the little bottles of shampoo and lotion you brought home from your Disney Resort hotel after your last vacation. Come on - you know you have some under the sink somewhere. The scent memory will take you back and lift your mood.
7. Enter Disney's 2014 Family Time Resolutions Sweepstakes. Disney is giving away one vacation every day now through January 31st.
8. Head on over to our Member Forums, sign up and join in the conversation! You'll find lots of friendly people, fun topics, and great advice from Disney fans just like you.
I know that there are many, many more ways to spend cold winter days dreaming of Disney. So while I turn up the heat, put on a lei, make a lapu lapu, and dance around my living room to the Enchanted Tiki Room soundtrack - why don't you leave a comment below and share how you're letting out your Disney side during these cold winter days!

DH has Soarin' running on his screen on a continuous loop today. I've been looking at the discounts for the spring and checking flights, figuring out if we can go in May. Thinking about sunshine, shorts and pools beats thinking about the -20 weather we have right now.

I've been planning my September trip (which isn't yet booked - I'm waiting for discounts), and it's been helping a lot! Though I'm wishing I could take another trip in February/March like I did last year. That way it'd be something a bit closer to look forward to. Might just have to go anyway! :)
But these are some great suggestions. I've been looking at my Minnie ears for the past few days. Hadn't thought to put them on!

We've been doing the 2 trips a year to get maximum value out of our AP's.... A trip in May and then September.... Last year we did the May and October...no more October ( too crowded with Halloween Parties)...seems we no sooner come home and it's time to go back... Wash our duds and back in the suitcase they go... Replenish toiletries and we're ready....

This one hits home for me. We last visited in 2012 and won't be going back until early 2015. We want to wait until our 10-month-old daughter is at least able to walk around and is a little more aware. I've been doing a lot of planning in my head of different trips and touring strategies. This is pretty common but especially the case during the middle of winter.
