Enjoy a Citrus Swirl at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in the Magic Kingdom

Imagine the scene: it's a hot and steamy summer day at the Magic Kingdom and it feels like the soles of your shoes are melting into the pavement. You're wishing you had your own Olaf-style personal flurry to keep cool. And then you see it, an oasis off as you enter Adventureland. The Sunshine Tree Terrace, home of the famous Citrus Swirl.

The Sunshine Tree Terrace is a piece of Magic Kingdom history, having been at the theme park since opening day back in 1971. It might have moved spots recently during the "Aloha Isla switcheroo" but it's still an icon of the Magic Kingdom. And it's where you'll find the cool and refreshing Citrus Swirl.

If you've never had a Citrus Swirl (what?!?) it's a combination of vanilla soft serve ice cream and orange slush (which is really just frozen orange juice). As much as we love Dole Whip (and the Dole Whip float with the "Dole Whip swirl") we really love the Citrus Swirl. There's something so delicious about orange and vanilla together.

Of course you'll find other goodies at the Sunshine Tree Terrace too including iced coffee (which is also perfect on a sultry summer day), soft serve vanilla ice cream, lemonade, a raspberry-lemonade slush, and a pina colada slush. And yes, the pina colada slush is non-alcoholic.

If you're looking for a fun souvenir you can order your raspberry lemonade slush or pina colada slush in a fun Tiki Mug.

When the Sunshine Tree Terrace first opened it was sponsored by the Florida Citrus Growers and guests could order orange juice and other beverages. The spot was home to the Orange Bird, a Disney creation that was the mascot for the Florida Citrus Growers.

Even though Orange Bird had recently returned to the Sunshine Tree Terrace he didn't make the move when the location swap happened. We hear that he's returning soon, so if anyone sees Orange Bird at the Sunshine Tree Terrace, let us know!

Sunshine Tree Terrace might have a new location but it's still one of our favorite spots at the Magic Kingdom!

These are so good! My husband likes them more than Dole whips!

My favorite treat from when I was a little girl, so happy to see them back in the park.
