Most of the Disney travelers I know are always looking for new ways to stretch their dining dollars. On my last trip to Walt Disney World I came across one of my new favorite meals values, Happy Hour at Terralina Crafted Italian. Located on the Landing at Disney Springs Terralina Crafted Italian dishes inspired by Italy's Lake District from Executive Chef Justin Plank and James Beard Award winning chef Tony Mantuano.
While the full menu at Terralina serves up solid Italian dishes, Happy Hour has my heart because it's all about one of my favorite foods... pizza. As with most happy hours the offering is limited but if you're at Disney Springs from 4pm to 6pm and in the mood for pizza and wine you can slide into a seat at the outdoor patio bar for half price. If wine isn't your thing, Happy Hour is serving up Terralina's selection of beers for $5.
As one might expect, the Wine List at Terralina Crafted Italian is more than respectable with over 100 varieties of Italian wines available by the glass or by the bottle.
I ordered the Tramin Gewurztraminer, which was was a little more mellow and dry than other Gewurztraminers I have enjoyed. I wasn't sure that I liked it at first, but when my pizza came I found it was a fantastic white to pair with the tang and spice of the pizza.
The pizza menu features artisan meats, and super fresh mozzarella cooked to order in the wood-burning oven fires. I balk at a small pizza for $15, but Happy Hour brings that price down to more than reasonable for what you get. There are about a half dozen pizza choices that guests can choose from, with one selection a "pizza of the week" variety.
I kept things traditional and ordered the Artisan Pepperoni pizza that was topped with Pepperoni, fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil. While I was slightly disappointed at the amount of pepperoni, the creaminess of the cheese was so amazing that I really didn't mind. The taste was fresh and bright with just a bit of spice from the large pepperoni slices.
Overall this deal is a super dining value at Disney Springs that I will be returning for over and over. If you stop by Terralina Crafted Italian, be sure to go in and say hello to your pizza cook, don't forget to tell them that Walt Disney World for Grown-ups sent you!
