A few weeks ago we waxed poetically about how much we miss Dreamfinder and the original "Journey Into Imagination." Today we're headed back to the Imagination Pavilion for a quick visit to Image Works - The "What If" Labs.
You really can't miss this place, since you have to walk through it as you exit Journey Into Imagination with Figment. Up until a few years ago it was known as the Kodak "What If?" Labs, but Kodak's name was removed when the company ended sponsorship of the pavilion. When Kodak was present there was a photography theme in part of the labs, including a chance for family to be chosen as a "family for the day" and have their photo taken and displayed in the Kodak photography lab.
Now, in its current incarnation, the "What If" Labs are a great place for the kids to run around for a bit after experiencing Figment and Dr. Nigel Channing's fun and games on the attraction.
This sensory-inspired play area features Figment's Melody Maker where the kids can wave their arms like an orchestra conductor to create music, or they can jump on the squares over at Stepping Tones to create their very own symphony. It's a great place for kids to play and use their imaginations. Dreamfinder would be so proud.
Guests can also create their very own Figment - choose a head, body type, wings, color, and name for the dragon - and then email it to friends, family, or yourself. It's always fun to arrive home and see Figment waiting in your email inbox.
But beware! This area also includes a Figment-themed gift shop where the little ones will find all sorts of souvenirs they just have to take home. You'll find stuff Figment toys, photo frames, and other non-Figment Disney merchandise.
Thanks so much to inazakira for images through Creative Commons. How often do you stop and let the kids make some music at the "What If" Labs? Leave us a comment!
