The next time you find yourself making plans to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom and you're looking for a great table service option, you'll want to add Yak and Yeti Restaurant to the list. This is one of our favorite table service spots at the Animal Kingdom, where your choices are somewhat limited when it comes to table service dining.
Yak and Yeti Restaurant is located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom, near Kali River Rapids. That is one of the most gorgeous areas of the park (in our humble opinion) so make sure you take some time to take in the themeing of the area. And once you get to Yak and Yeti you'll want to take in the incredible decor at the restaurant.
Disney loves to create backstories for restaurants, and Yak and Yeti has an interesting story. According to the story, a wealthy merchant from Anandapur (the town where the restaurant is located) named Arjun has fallen on hard times and has opened his house as a hotel and restaurant. Diners are able to see many of Arjun's treasures on display as they dine.
The menu at Yak and Yeti has a strong Pan-Asian vibe which is showcased in the flavors and dishes. But if you aren't a fan of Pan-Asian food don't let this deter you as there are several less "exotic" dishes include Baby Back Ribs and a Kobe Beef Burger on the menu.
The lunch and dinner menus feature many of the same dishes for appetizers and entrees. The appetizer menu features Ahi Tuna Nachos for Two, Pork Pot Stickers, Thai Chili Chicken Wings, Wok Fried Green Beans (a fan favorite), Wonton Soup, and a Dim Sum Basket for Two.
Entrees include several Lo Mein options including shrimp, chicken, or vegetable, Orange Beef, Sweet and Sour Pork or Chicken, Seared Miso Salmon, and Malaysian Seafood Curry. One of the things we love most about this restaurant is how delicious the food looks when it arrives at your table. It is always nice to dine somewhere that takes pride in the presentation of the food. Of course, it also tastes delicious too!
If you've saved room for dessert after enjoying an appetizer (we recommend the Pot Stickers or Dim Sum) and your entree, this is a restaurant where we like to splurge on dessert too. The New York Cheesecake is always good, but if you're looking for something different we recommend the Fried Wontons. Yes, for dessert.
Or maybe you want to spend those dessert calories on a grownup drink? If that's the case we recommend the Yak Attack. This frozen concoction is the same drink you can order at the Yak and Yeti Quality Beverages quick service. The drink is a frozen Mango Daiquiri topped with Bacardi Light Rum and Wildberry flavors. It's a must-have grownup beverage.
If you're looking for consistently good service and great food we recommend stopping by Yak and Yeti Restaurant on your next trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom. It remains on our list of must-dine-at locations.
Is Yak and Yeti one of your favorite table service spots? Let us know in the comments.
