If you're looking for a table service quality meal at a quick serve pace in Disney's Animal Kingdom be sure to stop by the Flame Tree Barbeque for a delicious meal. This popular dining location is located just across from the entrance to Dinoland is serving up some All-American favorites with several open air seating areas setting that offer fun decor and beautiful views.
Not just meat doused in sauces, the Flame Tree Barbeque is serving up ribs, chicken, turkey and pulled pork with a beautiful smoke ring and mild bark. These delicious meats are slow smoked right on site. Sauces are served on the side so that each guest can create just the taste they enjoy most with two saucy selections, Regular Barbeque or the Sweet & Spicy Barbeque. Platters come with slow baked beans and creamy coleslaw. Onion rings (some of my favorite) can also be added on as a side order. Guests wanting lighter fare can opt for the Smoked Turkey Breast Sandwich, a Smoked Chicken Salad, or a bountiful fruit plate. Time and again our fans rate the Flame Tree Barbeque as one of the best spots to grab a bite to eat at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Beverages at this counter service establishment run the regular gambit of coffee, tea, and sodas, as well as a Mandarin Orange Lemonade. Flame Tree also has a small selection of beers and wines, try the Safari Amber specially brewed for Disney's Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's a nice pairing for the BBQ and has a little more depth than the Budweiser.
One down-point to the open air seating arrangement is that sometimes the native birds get a little too familiar with the guests, not even Mary Poppins would encourage you to feed the birds here. These winged guests have been known to swipe food right off of plates now and again. If you have an encounter be sure to let the cast members know.
WDWFG wants to thank the Disney Food Blog for the exclusive use of some of their images. Head over and visit our friends at DFB for a complete review and even more great pictures!

We've never eaten here - we're big fans of Asian food and usually end up at Yak and Yeti, either table or counter service. But you've convinced me to add Flame Tree to the schedule for our next trip.

Flame Tree is one of the best counter service dining locations in WDW. I have dined there on several occasions, and have never been disappointed. The ribs and chicken are a great departure from the burger/pizza/chicken finger routine.

We went to Flame Tree every visit and the last trip decided to skip it and try something else. We will never skip it again.

We've never eaten at FTB, in part because of dietary limitations. They need a bit more vegetable matter on the menu. I love baked beans but my husband and son do not. They both eat meat, but I don't (although I do fish sometimes), so it would be nice to see a grilled veggie kabob on the menu, maybe with some seasoned rice as an alternative side. A fruit platter just doesn't cut it for lunch. The smell walking past is wonderful, though!
