Frontier Cooking At The Diamond Horseshoe

The Diamond Horseshoe offers an all-you-care-to-enjoy table service feast on the edge of Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom. The western style saloon, is currently open seasonally for a hearty lunch and dinner. On a recent trip, my husband and I enjoyed lunch there.

The fancy dining here is served family style so the vittles just keep coming. We started out with the Frontier salad (tossed greens, tomatoes, onions, roasted corn and house-made chipotle ranch dressing) and corn bread.

Next up was the Saloon Feast and what a feast it was! We're talking barbeque pulled pork, carved turkey breast, smoked sausage, succulent braised beef, cowboy beans, corn on the cob AND creamy baked mac and cheese with a crumble top.

Since it is all you care to eat, we had the option of requesting additional servings of any of the items. Since (in my opinion), no meal is complete without dessert, we rounded things off with a marshmallow topped campfire brownie.

Our experience at the Diamond Horseshoe was a pleasant one. Both service and food were very good and we left stuffed! Just be cautious with the salt and pepper shakers as the holes in the lids seem to be super-sized. My husband learned the hard way that a slight sprinkle of salt turned out to be much heavier than expected.
