Get Up Close With Rhinos At Disney's Animal Kingdom

Wildlife tours are some of the most popular add-ons at Disney's Animal Kingdom, with a broad variety of experiences that invite guests to get a little closer and learn more about the inhabitants of this special Park. Beginning November 1st, 2018 a brand new 60-minute guided excursion will allow guests to discover the magnificent rhinoceros.

'Up Close with Rhinos' is an exciting new backstage tour that will share with guests how Disney is working hard to save endangered rhinos in the wild. In 2006, two rhinos born at the park joined four other rhinos at the Ziwa Sanctuary in Uganda and are helping to reestablish a population that went extinct in the 1980s.

This behind-the-scenes look will spotlight the way Disney's dedicated animal team cares for the Park's white rhinos and as a part of this intimate experience, guests may even get a chance to touch a rhino. Though this part of the encounter will depend on the mood of the animals, so I don't advise booking on that alone. You should however book because due to poaching rhinoceros are among the most endangered animals in the world and getting 'Up Close with Rhinos' is a very special treat.

Space will be very limited for this new experience as only one tour of "Up Close with Rhinos" will be offered each day. Bookings open up on September 22, 2018 to celebrate World Rhino Day. To make a reservation, call 407-WDW-PLAY. Guests must be at least 4 years old to participate, and the cost is $40 (plus tax). Discounts are available to select passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members.
