If there's one snack that is always on my must-eat list every single time I'm at the Magic Kingdom its Dole Whip. For me it's the quintessential Walt Disney World treat! And while it is available at Disney's Polynesian Village, and at Sunshine Tree Terrace, and sometimes even at the Animal Kingdom's Tamu Tamu Refreshments I always have to stop at Aloha Isle or it just isn't the same.
Aloha Isle is located just inside Adventureland and honestly you can't miss it: there is almost always a line. Always. Unless the park is empty and the line isn't there, which is when you can consider it your lucky day. This never-ending line of Dole Whip fans is possibly one reason why you can also find this sweet cool treat at Sunshine Seasons.
The menu at Aloha Isle is quite simple: you can order Dole Whip and that's about it. (OK, you can also order some assorted beverages and a fresh pineapple spear if you really want to. But why would you want to?)
You can choose from just a plain Dole Whip cup with your choice of pineapple, vanilla, orange Dole Whip (yes, there is more than just one flavor!). Or maybe you want to shake things up a bit and order a Dole Whip Twist where you can combine two of the flavors. Pineapple and vanilla is my favorite as the vanilla cuts the sweet of the pineapple just a bit.
But the granddaddy of them all, the must-have-at-least-once-in-your-lifetime item is the Dole Whip Float. This magical snack starts with a half glass of ice cold pineapple juice and then the cast members add your choice of Dole Whip. My personal favorite is always the vanilla and pineapple twist in the Dole Whip Float. It really is heaven in a cup.
And if you aren't a fan of pineapple juice you can request your choice of pop (soda?) be added to the float instead. So many choices, so few vacation days!
The area near Aloha Isle is always full of people either standing in line or standing around eating their Dole Whip floats so finding a seat is somewhat of a challenge. You might find a few tables in the area and there are a couple of benches. But other than that it's a standing room only place. We suggest getting your Dole Whip and finding a spot in the shade before it melts.
Editor's Note: As of March 12, 2015 Aloha Isle and the Sunshine Tree Terrace have switched spots! Check out this post from our friends at the Disney Food Blog! No worries though: You can still get a Dole Whip Float at Aloha Isle and you can still get a Citrus Swirl at the Sunshine Tree Terrace!
What is your favorite Dole Whip from Aloha Isle? Are you a twist fan or do you love the Dole Whip Float? Let us know in the comments.
Many thanks to the Disney Food Blog for use of their photos!

Yep! Sunshine Tree Terrace - totally a typo that has been fixed. Too many things with Sunshine in the name. ;)
