One of the most loved events of the holiday season at Walt Disney World is the Candlelight Processional at the American Gardens Theater in Epcot. Each night between now and December 30th, a revolving cast of celebrity narrators will offer guests a glorious retelling of the biblical Christmas story, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a magnificent mass choir. Happening three times per night, the Candlelight Processional takes place at 5:00, 6:45, 8:15 p.m. and is included with your admission to the Epcot Theme Park.
As I mentioned above, the Candlelight Processional is an extremely popular annual event, which means that you can expect really, really long stand-by lines. I've known folks that have waited three hours or more on nights with the most popular narrators such as Neil Patrick Harris and Whoopi Goldberg. The American Gardens Theater seats 1,000, but at least half or more of these will be reserved for guests that have purchased guaranteed seating through a dinning package.
My #1 tip for Candlelight Processional viewing is to book a Candlelight dining package that includes a meal and seating at a Candlelight Processional performance.
The Candlelight dining package includes your choice of an appetizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic, non-specialty beverage from the chosen restaurant's menu or 1 full buffet.
According to the Walt Disney World website "packages for breakfast start at $35 plus tax per person for adults and $21 plus tax per person for children, ages 3-9. Candlelight Dining Packages for lunch and dinner start at $44 plus tax per person for adults and $15.50 plus tax per person for children, ages 3-9." For a full list of restaurant options be sure to visit our friends over at the Disney Food Blog Candlelight Processional Dining Package Page.
This annual event is just one of the reasons that Christmastime is perfect for celebrity spotting at Walt Disney World! Not only can you see an array of well known personalities narrating the processional three times a night; but they tend to spend their off time enjoying the Disney Parks and Resorts just like anyone else.
Wondering who you should keep your eye out for this holiday season? Here's a list of some of the famous faces you just end up in line next to, and when they are scheduled to narrate.

I saw Jodi Benson last year the day after Christmas. She was fantastic. The show was wonderful. I would definitely do it again.
