Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is the flagship resort of Walt Disney World and it decks the halls every holiday season with Victorian inspired style and pastel colors to compliment the magnificent lobby. A plethora of pretty holiday trees, wreaths, and swags welcome guests in elegant style and give off a feeling that something truly special is in store.
Grand Christmas Tree is decorated in pinks and blues with wintery white ornaments and flowers that evoke the classic holiday song "The Twelve Days of Christmas." The colors seem a little brighter and more cheerful this year while the white lights glitter from within the towering boughs.
One of my favorite parts of the decorations at the Grand Floridian is that graceful swans always feature in the decor. You'll find them on the tress or sitting nestled in the curve of a wreath, and the Grand Staircase is bedecks in garlands.
In years past Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has been known at Christmastime for its elaborate holiday Gingerbread House that is large enough to house a small gift shop. The fantastical display was canceled for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, however that hasn't stopped the talented pastry chefs from whipping up their magical holiday treats to sell. From gingerbread cookies to cake pops, miniature signature stollen bread and even peppermint bark Holiday sweets are on the menu at the Grand Floridian.
If your heart is hurting because you can't see the giant gingerbread house, the Grand Pastry Chefs have done their best to give you a glimpse of the traditional icon of the Grand Floridian Christmas with a miniature replica made out of chocolate. It's pretty impressive all on its own.
Many thanks go out to our pals over at the DFB for sharing their Grand Floridian Holiday pictures with us exclusively. Will you be making a resort hop over to see the 2020 Christmas decorations? Leave a comment and share your thoughts of this year's display.
